Role Summary
The General Manager will oversee all daily operations of Bear Restaurant and Gavel, our coffee & provisions shop. The General Manager manages all front-of-house (FOH) team members and works closely with the Executive Chef and the Director of Food and Beverage in order to showcase Bear’s exceptional cuisine with heartfelt and individual service. Bear is the keystone of Stanly Ranch’s culinary offering, serving to connect creation with consumption. Bear is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, each meal spotlights a menu of inspired, elemental cooking.
Key Responsibilites

Work with the Director of Food and Beverage and the Executive Chef in setting the direction of the business in day to day operations as well as developing and executing a plan to drive sales, manage costs, and grow the business.
Collaborate with and assist other Food & Beverage departments to ensure smooth operations in all areas of the division.
Works with the Marketing and Promotional teams to continue to build the reputation and business for Bear in the local community
Manage FOH schedule
Direct all recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining management staff; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures according to Auberge and Stanly Ranch standards.
Handle all FOH staff responsibilities in partnership with Talent and Culture (includes: training and development, employee relations, disciplinary action, documentation, terminations, etc.).
Work closely with the team of F&B Managers in order to promote a strong and unified leadership dynamic.
Manage FOH payroll edits and ensures all is correct by payroll processing time, in accordance with Auberge and California labor law requirements.
Manage FOH tipout procedures and payroll input, and ensure all is correct by payroll processing time.
Responsible for conducting regular and meaningful meetings with all FOH Leadership to update them on financials, service, new procedures, and improvements.
Responsible for holding daily rallies within every service period OR assigning another manager to hold them in their absence.
Budget effectively for the department.
Work with the entire leadership team to drive the success of Bear.
Share responsibility for all repairs and maintenance of the restaurant and work with engineering to report and ensure completion in a timely manner.
Oversee organization, efficiency and policies pertaining to service in the dining room.
Balance administrative responsibilities with service responsibilities.
Enhance and strengthen guest relationships, both established and new.
Promote cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale and service culture among team members.
Resolve concerns from guests in a gracious and timely fashion.
Participate in training regarding standardized policies (HR, fire, hygiene, health, safety, employee handbook, etc.)
Help with duties of other employees (i.e. server, server assistant, food runner, etc.); open and close the restaurant as needed.
Responsible for ensuring that all server check outs and restaurant closing duties are performed on a daily basis to standard.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of company background, ENRICH values and philosophy.
Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems.
Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
The starting rate for this position is $110,000 per year, plus incentive. This is the pay rate for this position that Stanly Ranch reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Full Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule.
Three to five years managing restaurants, preferably in a luxury resort and/or restaurant setting.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
