About This Role:


Join our Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology (PO&T) Division as a Director, CMC Asset Lead - Neurodegeneration, and become the driving force behind our cross-functional leadership. As a pivotal member of the Asset Development & Portfolio Management team, you'll take charge of the comprehensive management of our clinical and commercial programs. This role places you at the forefront of developing and executing asset strategies, ensuring the seamless integration of development, supply, and life cycle management. Your work will directly impact our neurodegeneration therapeutic area, steering the direction of one or more clinical programs. With end-to-end asset leadership, you will not only contribute to our business goals but also shape the future of our groundbreaking neurodegenerative disease treatments. This is a hybrid role to be based at our Headquarters in Cambridge, MA.

What You’ll Do:

  • Take ownership as the PO&T “asset owner”, responsible for a comprehensive 5-year PO&T Asset Strategy and an 18-month rolling Tactical Plan.
  • Lead the cross-functional PO&T Asset Team to develop and implement the PO&T Asset Strategy & Tactical Plan.
  • Represent PO&T on R&D Program teams and Product Development and Commercialization teams, acting as a key influencer and liaison.
  • Proactively manage and resolve conflicts within the Asset Strategy, ensuring alignment and accountability across PO&T Line Functions.
  • Oversee the asset-related financial impacts, including COGS, E&O, and OPEX, and collaborate on tactics for improvement.
  • Craft and advocate for business cases for key Asset initiatives, securing endorsements from the PO&T Governance Committee.
  • Monitor program risks diligently and formulate robust risk mitigation strategies.

Who You Are:


You are a strategic thinker and a natural leader, versed in the intricacies of drug development, supply chain, and manufacturing within the biopharmaceutical field. Your expertise positions you as an integral member of the Asset Development & Portfolio Management team, where you will guide PO&T disciplines and maintain essential relationships with program R&D and commercial leaders. Your leadership will be crucial in promoting PO&T's vision and strategy, as you manage critical partnerships and champion resource management, decision-making processes, and knowledge management initiatives. You are the catalyst for fostering a collaborative environment that promotes diversity of thought and innovative solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience in a matrix management setting; Advanced degree (MS, PhD) preferred in a biopharmaceutical discipline. *Equivalent advanced degree and commensurate experience may also be considered.
  • Proven matrix leadership across the full product life cycle, including CMC line functions and other matrix teams.
  • In-depth experience with CMC, supply chain, or LCM development from IND through to NDA/BLA, along with a comprehensive grasp of global registration processes.
  • Solid background in healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry, with keen insight into cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Exceptional strategic planning, political acumen, organizational, and relationship development skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and influence without direct authority, drawing on a diverse range of perspectives and ideas.
  • Strong organizational and project management prowess, with an ability to maximize the value of a Project Management function.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making talents.
  • Proven track record in identifying program risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Advanced understanding of neurodegeneration therapeutic area.
  • Experience in fostering innovation and continuous improvement in biopharmaceutical operations.

Additional Information:

The base salary range for this position is $200,000-$275,000. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
