HouseSmart’s Crew Chief is responsible for leading and developing their team in the daily set up of homes. The Crew Chief is responsible for scheduling and executing projects as efficiently and safely as possible. This role will be a master of their skillset and pour into others and help as needed when installing the homes. The Crew Chief provides feedback to their team and holds them accountable and ensures it is on track to complete in a timely manner.  

What You’ll Be Doing: 

Help safely lead and move along various residential construction projects with responsibilities including….  

  • Constantly encourage and lead the team to complete the install.   

  • Lead, train, and help the team in everchanging, daily projects with responsibilities such as site and foundation planning and construction, finishing homes on site, transporting equipment, framing, roofing, and other hands-on, construction tasks.

  • Assist the Hub Manager with scheduling, safety, quality, team management, and jobsite management to ensure the jobsites are completed as effectively and efficiently as possible.

  • Lead teams by example by jumping in and working to quickly learn quality; by showing dedication to learning and growing; and by always having a positive and coaching-focused attitude. 

  • Always look ahead, anticipating needs of the team and project, and problem solving.

  • Partner with the Transportation teams to make sure everyone is working together in the best ways.

When You’ll Be Doing It: 

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday.

  • You have 4+ years of various construction experience. Experience with leading, coaching, and mentoring teams a plus. 

  • You are a technical expert in many construction areas with a desire to lead, coach, and mentor teams.

  • You are proficient in various residential construction areas with the desire to learn more specialized skills.

  • You enjoy training and enforcing a positive, high paced environment within your team.

  • You are comfortable with heights (using/safely climbing a ladder) and crawl spaces and can lift up to 50 lbs.
