Genetic Counselor (Temporary Contract)

As part of our mission to expand access to genetic services, Color serves as a key partner in the NIH All of Us Research Program—a groundbreaking initiative aiming to enroll one million or more participants to accelerate health research and enable individualized prevention, treatment, and care. Through this partnership, Color Genetic Counselors provide counseling for participants receiving genomic results as part of this nationwide effort to advance precision medicine.

We are looking for a Genetic Counselor with a broad knowledge of clinical genetics and strong communication skills to support All of Us participants. This includes telephone-based counseling, discussion of test results and associated risks, and guidance on medical management and follow-up care. The role requires independent work, critical thinking, and collaboration in a remote, fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on quality, accessibility, and innovation in care delivery.


How You'll Contribute:
  • Provide telephone-based clinical genetic counseling for individuals receiving genomic screening results through the NIH All of Us Research Program.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and All of Us participants via phone and email, offering clear and compassionate support.
  • Review and interpret clinical genetic test reports as needed.
  • Contribute to the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Color’s genetic counseling workflows, documentation, and service delivery processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support the implementation of population-scale genomics programs.
  • Contribute ideas and advocate for process improvements to enhance team efficiency, quality of care, and scalability.


Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
  • Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
  • Licensed (or license-eligible) in the state of residence.
  • Clinical experience providing genetic counseling in at least one of the following areas: hereditary cancer, cardiovascular genetics, and/or pharmacogenomics.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience counseling on results from the ACMG59 gene panel.
  • Experience delivering genetic counseling via telehealth
  • Active licensure in multiple U.S. states (especially California)
  • Experience serving diverse and/or underserved populationsStrong background in providing excellent customer and provider support
