Position Overview

Summary: Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, Texas, Inc. is offering exciting summer internships for college students who have completed at least their sophomore year. We provide a supportive and collaborative teaching environment to help interns develop their skills and pinpoint their career goals. This opportunity offers invaluable experience with an industry-leading biopharmaceutical contract development manufacturing organization. Interns will work under the guidance of a department manager on a project focused on enhancing current processes and improving efficiency. Internships typically run from mid-May to August, with specific dates determined collaboratively between the intern, their supervisor, and Human Resources. 

 

The key objective of this internship is to assist in the development of a Program Management Playbook. This Playbook will serve as a comprehensive guide to how FDBT site will run their programs throughout the entirety of the program lifecycle and will help to define the responsibilities from each site team that will contribute to the process - from the initiation with our commercial teams, through critical milestones such as process development, PPQ, commercialization, and finally project closure.

 

 

Start Date: This internship is set to begin on May 19th, 2025 for an 11-week duration ending on August 8th 2025. 

  

Relocation: Please note this Internship Opportunity is designed to be 100% Onsite, 40 hours/week and a relocation/housing stipend is not provided.

Job Description

 

Essential Functions (will vary based on departmental need): 

  • Collaborate with the Program Management team to develop and document the PM Playbook, ensuring it accurately reflects the program lifecycle.
  • Assist in identifying and verifying tools and methodologies, such as RACI matrices, to define team responsibilities and streamline project processes.
  • Engage with various departments to gather and integrate key insights and inputs into the Playbook. Utilize MS Office Suite and Outlook to organize, draft, and refine Playbook content.
  • Conduct research on best practices in program management to incorporate innovative strategies into the Playbook.
  • Support the Program Management team in day-to-day operational activities to gain comprehensive insight into project workflows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to produce high-quality documentation and facilitate collaboration.
  • Energetic and proactive attitude, with the ability to bring fresh ideas and improvements to the FDBT site.
  • Strong desire to contribute significantly to process enhancements and project efficiency.

  • Experience at any time prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. 
  • Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is required. 
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.  
  • Attendance is mandatory. 
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE. 

Qualifications: 

  • Full-time Undergraduate who has completed their sophomore year, or Graduate student, preferably enrolled in a relevant academic program (e.g., Business, Project Management, or related fields).
  • Demonstrated interest in program management and project lifecycle processes. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Some knowledge of biotech/biopharma is preferred.
