Job Summary:

This job is responsible for performing more complex analysis aimed at improving portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational performance for consumer products and related divisions, such as credit cards. Key responsibilities include applying knowledge of multiple business and technical-related topics and independently driving strategic improvements, large-scale projects, and initiatives. Job expectations include working with business counterparts within the Line of Business and partner organizations including Risk and Product teams.

This position will serve as a subject matter expert in collections strategy, risk analytics and performance monitoring. The primary responsibility includes designing and optimizing SAS and SQL based reporting to evaluate collections strategies and metric performance. This role will work closely with Risk, Strategy Owners, and Analytics teams to improve performance management, reporting and collections performance tracking through Decision Strategy Governance. Analyst must be flexible and have experience working in a fast paced & high-pressure environment as the role requires management of multiple projects at once. Analyst must also have management and leadership being able to effectively enhance less tenure analysts SAS coding, analytical skills and overall business acumen. Analyst should be experienced with the bank’s data structure including Hadoop, SQL Server, Teradata, and Oracle.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex analysis of financial models, market data, financial data, and portfolio trends to understand product performance and improve portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational performance.

  • Coaches and mentors peers to improve proficiency in a variety of systems and serves as a subject matter expert on multiple business and technical-related topics.

  • Identifies business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions and communicates findings to senior management.

  • Supports execution of large scale projects, such as platform conversions or new project integrations by conducting advanced reporting and drawing analytics based insights.

  • Develop and maintain advanced SAS/SQL programs for monitoring, tracking and risk analytics related to all products across collections strategies.

  • Conduct in depth analysis using SAS Enterprise Guide, SQL Server, Hadoop, Oracle and Teradata to evaluate collections efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to enhance collections performance metrics.

  • Lead and monitor junior analysts on SAS programming, statistical modeling and reporting optimization.

  • Conduct technical interviews to assess candidates’ SAS and SQL proficiency for team expansion.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years expertise in SAS Enterprise Guide, SQL and data mining techniques for collections performance evaluation.

  • Proficiency in advanced SAS coding techniques, including data manipulation, macro programming, and statistical analysis.

  • Experience with Collection Strategies, including identifying risk triggers and optimizing collection efforts.

  • Hands on experience with large scale data management systems (Hadoop. Teradata, ReportNet, SQL Server, Oracle).

  • Proven track record in developing strategic reports, dashboards and data driven insights to support business needs.

  • Ability to work cross functionally with risk, collections and reporting teams to drive improvement in portfolio performance.

  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights.

  • ​Strong leadership and mentoring experience in coaching teams on technical proficiency and problem solving.

$99,700.00 - $157,800.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
