About the team

The Account Executive team is part of the Sales Team at Gorgias, the leading conversational AI platform built for eCommerce. We help brands drive sales and resolve support inquiries seamlessly.

This is not your typical AE role—we’re hiring our first GTM hire to build out our German Market & Presence. You will play a foundational role in launching and proving success in the German market. This means you won’t have onboarding, support, or marketing resources right away—you will build the foundation and win our first customers.

If you’ve successfully opened a market in Germany before, thrive in ambiguous, high-growth environments, and are excited about building something from scratch, this is the opportunity for you.

You will be joining a team of high-performing AEs with a proven track record of success—currently ranked in the top 10% of sales organizations according to RepVue!

What You'll Do

  • As our first AE for the German Market, you will be responsible for landing our first customers and proving market fit. This means taking full ownership of the end-to-end sales process while also building the foundations for long-term success.

    • Own the full sales cycle – from prospecting and discovery to closing deals.

    • Work without extensive support—you won’t have localized onboarding, CS, or marketing at first. Instead, you’ll create the processes that future hires will follow.

    • Educate prospects—you will be the face of Gorgias in Germany, explaining everything from our platform to pricing, integrations, and support.

    • Handle post-sales challenges—you may need to help onboard early customers, provide product guidance, and even assist with retention efforts until we build out more resources.

    • Collaborate with Partnerships—work closely with the Partner Manager sourcing inbound leads and strategize how to maximize opportunities.

    • Proactively identify and solve problems—whether it’s documentation gaps, process inefficiencies, or localization challenges, you’ll suggest improvements and help shape the GTM strategy.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role—we need someone who can figure things out, not someone who needs a playbook.

Who You Are

  • 2-3+ years of experience opening a new market (bonus points if its Germany) in a closing sales role (AE, Business Development, or similar).

  • A proactive doer—you thrive without hand-holding, find solutions, and take ownership of your success.

  • Proven ability to sell without a full support structure—you’ve successfully worked in an early-stage GTM role where resources were limited.

  • Tech-savvy—you understand SaaS, eCommerce, and AI solutions, and can act as a trusted consultant to customers.

  • Fluent in both German and English (written & spoken).

  • Comfortable handling pre-sales and post-sales tasks—you’ll wear multiple hats, from selling to onboarding and retention.

  • Strong ability to identify trends, suggest process improvements, and adapt quickly as we scale.

  • Growth mindset—you see challenges as opportunities and believe that building something new is part of the job, not an extra burden.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SaaS or eCommerce sales.

  • Proven ability to prospect and develop a pipeline from scratch.

  • Experience working in a fast-scaling, international environment.

Perks & Benefits

  • 🏖️ 5-week vacation plus 2 weeks RTT

  • 🤕 Paid sick leave

  • 🌏 6 weeks full remote/year

  • 🧸 Paid parental leave (16 weeks)

  • 🚊50% of public transportation reimbursed

  • 💻 MacBook Pro

  • 🍽️ Personal credit card to buy lunches (we use Swile)

  • 🏥 We provide private health insurance (we use Alan)

  • 💆🏻‍♀️ Get up to €700 to set up your workstation at home (working from home should feel breezy)

  • 📚 Get up to €2000 of learning material and wellness support per year! This includes €1500 for learning material (such as books, courses, and individual coaching sessions) directly linked to your job scope, as well as a €500 wellness budget. Take advantage of these resources to grow in your role and prioritize your personal development and wellness.

  • 🥰 Every quarter, we organize an online company-wide summit to discuss where we’re going and strengthen social bonds. Once per year we organize offsite team retreats and company retreats!
