We’re looking for a high-agency, execution-driven product leader to own growth product at GPTZero. This is a Swiss Army knife role—one where you’ll work directly with our founder (Edward), our designers, and engineers to experiment rapidly, optimize in-product conversion, and build viral growth loops.
If you're an ex-founder, early-stage operator, or an independent, resourceful entrepreneur, this role is built for you. You’ll have full ownership over your growth strategy while working with a world-class team and learn from growth advisors.
What You’ll Own
In the early days of the company, you will work across many parts of the org, including but not limited to:
Full Product-led Growth Ownership — experiment and improve the entire user journey including signup, activate, checkout, monetization, and retention
High-Velocity Execution – Launch multiple experiments per week, measure impact, and double down on what works
Virality: develop and scale viral loops, inside and outside of product (eg. referral programs, or ) that grow organic impressions and conversion
Data-Driven Strategy – Leverage analytics to refine messaging, onboarding, channel selection, and positioning.
Your role might also touch upon the following until we bring on specialists for these functions:
Positioning & landing page ideation, testing, and analysis
Consumer acquisition strategies, directing TikTok influencer marketing, SEO, partnerships to focus on specific products and user messaging
Build content and community engagement loops for students, teachers, marketers, and writers through email marketing, organic social, and community creation

Who will help you succeed
Direct Access to Leadership – You will work day-to-day with Edward (CEO), and meet weekly with Alex (CTO) on integrating machine learning developments and new products (auto-grader and fact-checker) with our growth strategy.
Rapid Engineering Experimentation – Collaborate with our engineering team to run A/B tests and growth experiments at high velocity.
Design & Mockups – In addition to designing experiments and landing pages yourself in Figma, Lovable, V0, etc., our world-class design team is available anytime to collaborate and finetune your drafts and ideas.
Paid Marketing & Acquisition – Our paid marketing guru, Faizan Mehdi (Director Demand Gen, Affinity, part-time with GPTZero) will help optimize our email acquisition and paid channels to fuel your growth efforts.
Growth Mentorship – We’ll invest in top-tier growth mentors and coaches to help you learn and scale. To start, you’ll meet weekly with our growth advisor, Gaurav Vohra (Founding Growth @ Superhuman), for hands-on strategy sessions. You’ll also have unfiltered Slack access to Gaurav to troubleshoot challenges and refine your experiments live.
✅ Ex-founder or early-stage product operator, who has driven consumer growth from 0 → 1.
✅ Deep understanding of growth loops, funnel optimization, and high-leverage growth tactics.
✅Data scientist in a past life; or at least have technical knowhow in either SQL, Python, Scipy, Databricks, and Amplitude to understand user behavior
✅ Experience running rapid experiments and iterating based on data.
✅ Experience testing acquisition channels (e.g., virality, social, search, influencer marketing) is a plus
✅ Familiarity with TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Twitter, and influencer-driven growth is a plus.
✅ Experience working with AI, EdTech, or writing-related products is a bonus but not required.
