ATIS Learning Functional Support SME

Overview

LMI seeks a highly motivated Senior Learning Experience Designer to serve as a Functional Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ATIS Learning. This role requires expertise in Army training processes, learning management systems, and enterprise-wide training solutions, with a special focus on leveraging the Moodle platform to support Army learning. The SME will work closely with Army stakeholders, technical teams, and instructional designers to enhance ATIS capabilities and ensure alignment with Army training objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the ATIS Agile Release Train, providing expertise on Army training and functional support for system users for the ALCMC Product Team.
  • Support the development and implementation of ATIS Learning functionalities, ensuring alignment with Army training doctrine and requirements.
  • Provide specialized expertise in the Moodle learning management system (LMS) to enhance Army learning experiences.
  • Conduct business process analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for system improvements.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, software engineers, and data analysts to optimize the ATIS user experience.
  • Develop and document training processes, workflows, and system requirements for ATIS Learning.
  • Facilitate working groups, stakeholder engagements, and training demonstrations.
  • Serve as a functional liaison to the Customer Service Center and TPO ATIS.
  • Support migration and subsumption of Army Learning Content system capabilities leveraging the Moodle platform and ATIS Learning system.
  • Ensure compliance with Army regulations, policies, and best practices in training management.
  • Support change management and adoption strategies for ATIS Learning.
  • Assist in testing and validation of system functionality to meet operational needs.
  • Work with the ART and Pdm ATIS leaders to identify efficiencies in delivering ATIS Learning to Army users.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, training development, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Army training, training management systems, or instructional design.
  • Experience with Army Distributed Learning environments and training development processes.
  • Expertise in the Moodle platform, including course design, administration, and integration with other learning systems.
  • Strong understanding of Army training doctrine (e.g., TR 350-70) and policies.
  • Familiarity with Army training systems such as ATIS, TDC, Moodle or Blackboard.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • DoD security clearance.
  • Travel required to in person PI Planning event once per quarter.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in instructional technology, education, or related field.
  • Prior experience working with ATIS or other Army training modernization efforts.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in training and facilitating user adoption of new learning technologies.
