Corporate Counsel

As Corporate Counsel, you will be integral in managing the daily operations of the Legal Department. This will include contract drafting, review, and negotiations, overseeing litigation, collaborating with stakeholders across the company on various issues, handling insurance claims and renewals, and leading corporate governance efforts.

**Please note this role will follow our hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office at either our downtown Chicago office or Lombard office.


What you will do:
  • Works with internal stakeholders tomitigate risk and limit exposure and liability for the company and its’ subsidiaries and affiliates, including strategic decision making in how to improve business processes to reduce risk and reach company goals.
  • Manages and audits document control and rentions polices.
  • Oversee external litigation and manage relationships with outside counsel.
  • Handle insurance portfolios, including insurance renewals, and claims management.
  • Leads yearly insurance audits and assists in other company audits where necessary.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review high-value contracts, as well as commercial agreements, NDA’s, settlement agreements, etc.
  • Reviews all project related contracts.
  • Lead corporate governance efforts, including running quarterly board meetings, drafting agendas and minutes, and managing the changes to various entities.
  • Consults with People and Culture to manage employee relations and labor and employment matters.
  • Manages enterprise business licenses.
  • Ensure company compliance by reviewing and updated policies and resolving issues that negatively affect the firm’s compliance with legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of commercial strategies.
  • Assist in legal aspects of drafting proposals to secure future business.
  • Draft, update, and organize Legal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Your background:
  • Degree from an accredited Law School.
  • 7+ years of experience as in-house counsel (perferrably in construction or engineering industry) or within a law firm (preferably in transactional or corporate practice groups).
  • Licensed in state of Illinois.


$141,400 - $214,900 a year
The actual base pay depends upon many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
