COMPANY OVERVIEW 

Pangaea creates and grows digitally native brands on a global scale. Our two brands are Lumin and Meridian, both in the personal care space. Our goal is to create iconic, disruptive, and culture impacting brands that attract communities of brand lovers across borders. Since our launch in 2018, we’ve sold our products in 50 different countries and have grown to over 50 employees and contractors across several locations in the world!

THE ROLE

We are hiring a Product Development Intern to join our dynamic team! This is a fantastic opportunity for a current college student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in the world of product innovation and development within the skincare and grooming industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: 

    • Conduct research on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products.
    • Analyze customer feedback and identify opportunities for new product innovations or improvements.
    • Track industry trends and technological advancements in skincare and grooming.
  • Product Ideation and Concept Development:

    • Assist in brainstorming sessions for new product ideas or improvements to existing products.
    • Collaborate with the product development team to develop concepts that align with customer needs and company goals.
    • Help create tracking documents for product prototypes and samples. 
  • Product Testing & Quality Control:

    • Assist in organizing and conducting product testing, both internally and with customers (e.g., focus groups or consumer testing).
    • Help track product performance and report findings related to quality, efficacy, and user experience.
    • Assist in the development of product claims & substantiation testing, including the development of questionnaires and results reporting.
  • Product Documentation & Reporting:

    • Assist in maintaining product development documents such as specifications, timelines, and testing results.
    • Help create presentations and reports for internal stakeholders regarding the progress of product development.
    • Review documents from suppliers and compare them against internal Spec Sheets, providing feedback or approval to suppliers if discrepancies are identified.
  • Sustainability & Compliance Research:

    • Investigate sustainable ingredients, materials, and packaging options that align with the company’s brand values.
    • Assist in ensuring the products meet all regulatory and compliance standards related to skincare and grooming products (e.g., FDA regulations, EU Cosmetics Regulation).
  • Product Launch Support:

    • Support the development of launch strategies and marketing plans, assisting with coordination and timelines.
    • Help with pre-launch activities like packaging, promotional material creation, and other go-to-market efforts.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

    • Assist in analyzing consumer data to assess product performance, user feedback, and sales trends.
    • Use this data to help make recommendations for product improvements or updates.
  • General Administrative Tasks:

    • Support day-to-day activities of the product development team, including scheduling meetings, organizing documents, and maintaining tracking systems for product progress.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A college student majoring in product development, marketing, business, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to work for a minimum of 10 hours per week for the next three months
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data on market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Eager to learn, have a positive attitude, and be receptive to feedback.
  • Ability to work East Coast hours is preferred. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a part-time, unpaid internship. Benefits include:
