As a Cook you will participate in the planning and organization of the Food Services Department on a daily basis.

Job Description

As a Cook you will provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.

Key Considerations for Preparing Meals:

  • Texture: The primary goal is to make foods soft and easy to chew and swallow. 
  • Methods:
    • Pureeing: Use blenders or food processors to create smooth textures. 
    • Blending: Blend fruits, vegetables, and soups to achieve a desired consistency. 
    • Finely Chopping: Chop meats, vegetables, and other foods into small, easily manageable pieces. 
    • Moistening: Add sauces, gravies, or liquids to help with swallowing. 

  • Food Service 1 year (Preferred)
  • Food Handlers Card within 30 days of Employment
  • Hours: PM Shift
  • $20.50 - $21.05 per hour D.O.E
