Chief of Staff @ Growth Marketing Agency

Position: Chief of Staff to the Founder
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Our client is a minority-founded and certified ecosystem of purpose-driven companies, dedicated to accelerating growth, enhancing consciousness, and driving holistic impact across a variety of industries. Their mission is to scale businesses that not only achieve outstanding results but also elevate human well-being and societal progress.

Position Overview:

Their marketing division has entered a period of rapid growth, securing larger-scale, longer-term contracts and expanding its service offerings, while the client continues to bring new companies into its ecosystem. This evolution requires a highly capable Chief of Staff to ensure seamless execution, maintain operational stability, and help scale the business sustainably.

The Chief of Staff will act as the Founder's strategic partner and right-hand, ensuring that business strategies and operational plans are executed effectively across the entire ecosystem. This role primarily focuses on their flagship growth marketing agency while supporting and influencing initiatives in their other ventures.

This is a high-impact role for someone who is highly organized, strategic, and execution-focused. They will help translate the Founder's visionary ideas into actionable steps, driving projects forward and optimizing internal processes to keep their fast-paced, high-growth operations running smoothly.

As Chief of Staff, you will be a leader within the marketing division and a unifying force across all teams – essentially the connective tissue that ensures alignment, accountability, and momentum from vision to outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution & Operations: Serve as the connective tissue across their companies, driving strategic execution and overseeing day-to-day business operations to ensure the Founder’s directives are implemented effectively and on time.

  • Bridge Leadership & Alignment: Act as a bridge between the Founder and the leadership teams of each venture, ensuring clarity of priorities, seamless communication, and alignment with their overall strategy and mission. Regularly communicate the Founder's vision to all departments so that everyone is moving in concert toward shared goals.

  • Process Optimization: Continually evaluate and improve internal processes and operating systems. Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and implement solutions that enhance productivity, transparency, and scalability across teams.

  • Project & Initiative Management: Lead and manage high-priority projects and strategic initiatives from concept through completion. Establish project timelines, deliverables, and milestones, and monitor progress to ensure objectives are met. Step in to remove roadblocks, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and keep everyone accountable for their commitments.

  • Business Development Support: Partner with the Founder on business development activities, including managing new client onboarding, client proposals, and special initiatives to drive growth. Interface with key clients and external partners when needed, representing the Founder and ensuring relationships are managed with professionalism and care.

  • Translate Vision into Frameworks: Take the Founder's unique ideas, methodologies, and frameworks and help document and systematize them. Turn big-picture concepts into scalable processes and playbooks that teams can implement across the organization.

  • Special Projects & Initiatives: Provide oversight and execution support for ad-hoc projects that fall outside the usual organizational structure or require cross-department coordination. Ensure these special projects are given the attention needed and that follow-through is flawless on all action items.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with functional leaders in marketing, sales, operations, product, and other areas to track progress against goals. Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, ensure information flows to the right people, and assist in data-driven decision-making at the executive level.

  • Drive Growth Objectives: Keep a strong pulse on the marketing division's business plan and growth targets. Ensure that the division's key growth initiatives and holistic business objectives are executed precisely and that the agency continues to innovate and deliver outstanding results for their clients.

  • Executive Advisory: Act as a confidant and advisor to the Founder. Prepare briefing materials, research as needed, and offer input to support the Founder's decision-making. You’ll provide a “sounding board” for ideas and help anticipate any obstacles or resource needs for upcoming initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7–10 years of experience in a Chief of Staff, strategic operations, business management, or similar leadership role. You have a track record of supporting CEOs or senior executives in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment. Experience in marketing, venture building, consulting, or scaling startups is highly preferred.

  • Project Management Excellence: Exceptionally strong project management and execution skills. You are able to juggle multiple initiatives, keep teams on task, and drive projects to completion on time. You excel at process design and optimization, always seeking ways to make things work better and more efficiently.

  • Strategic & Hands-On: A big-picture thinker who can also roll up their sleeves. Equally comfortable brainstorming at the 30,000-foot level and diving into the trenches to ensure plans are implemented properly. No task is too small or too large if it moves the mission forward.

  • Adaptable & Entrepreneurial: Thrives in fast-moving environments and can navigate ambiguity with ease. You adapt quickly to new information and changing circumstances, maintaining composure and effectiveness amid rapid growth and change. Startup agility and a solutions-oriented mindset are a must.

  • Relationship Builder: Strong relationship management and business development abilities. You’re skilled at building rapport and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders – from internal team members to clients, partners, and investors. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) enable you to influence and inspire others, even without formal authority.

  • Mission Alignment: Deep alignment with their mission and values. You are purpose-driven and likely have an interest in conscious business, holistic well-being, personal development, and using business as a force for good. You understand their ethos and are excited to further it.

  • Systems Thinker: Able to bring order to chaos. You can take complex, abstract problems or visionary ideas and structure them into clear plans, processes, and frameworks. You think in terms of systems and sustainable solutions, not one-off fixes.

  • Executive Presence: Comfortable working directly with founders, C-level executives, and senior leadership. You can hold your own in high-level strategic discussions, exercise sound judgment, and maintain the utmost confidentiality. You have the confidence and tact to push back when necessary and the humility to support others’ ideas when they’re best for the business.

  • Results & Ownership: A self-starter with a high level of initiative and accountability. You take ownership of outcomes and consistently drive projects to successful completion. “Ownership” and “follow-through” are part of your DNA.

Cultural Fit & Values Alignment

  • Values-Driven: You embody their core values – Integrity in Action, Courage Redefined, Challenge in Love, and Holistic Abundance – in both your work and interactions. These aren’t just words; they resonate deeply with who you are.

  • Purpose-Oriented: Mission-driven and passionate about making a positive impact, you care about more than just the bottom line. You’re open-minded, introspective, and excited about integrating mindfulness and consciousness into high-performance business.

  • Collaborative & Empathetic: You lead with empathy and respect. While you are assertive and unafraid to challenge the status quo, you do so with love and in service of growth (staying true to “Challenge in Love”). You excel at fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and holistic success for the team.

  • High Integrity: You operate with integrity and authenticity at all times. You own mistakes, speak truthfully, and prioritize doing the right thing even when it’s hard – reflecting “Integrity in Action” in everyday decisions.

What they offer:

  • Competitive Compensation: A competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus potential for performance-based bonuses. They want to attract top talent and will reward accordingly.

  • Equity & Long-Term Incentives: Opportunity for equity ownership or other long-term incentive plans, so you can share in the growth and success you help create.

  • Flexible Work Environment: They are headquartered in Austin, TX and prefer an Austin-based candidate for ease of collaboration. However, they are open to remote candidates if you are an exceptional fit. They care about outcomes, not hours at a desk, so they offer flexibility in how you achieve results.

  • Growth & Development: This role offers access to transformative business and leadership experiences within a fast-growing ecosystem of companies. You will work side by side with a visionary founder and have a front-row seat to the scaling of multiple businesses. Opportunities for personal and professional development are abundant.

  • Benefits: Wellness benefits and unlimited PTO (vacation) are part of their commitment to supporting their team’s holistic well-being. (Additional benefits details can be provided during the interview process.)
