Job Description

Contract roles are geared toward independent professionals interested in temporary or project-based work.

Sia Title: Project Consultant (Exempt Contractor) 

Project Title: Sr. PMO Program Manager

Level: Mid-Senior

Project Length: This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 6 Months (with potential extension)

Project Hours: 40 hours 

Location: Onsite in Denver Metro Area

The expected compensation for this contract is approximately $95K per year. The exact pay rate will vary depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to skills, experience, and location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist client in leading the design of the PMO. 
  • Responsible for intake, vetting ideas, determining priority, defining scope and workplans for projects, launching and executing the improvement projects. 
  • Assist in staffing roles alongside client resources. 
  • Manage intake, create project charters and workplans, execute projects according to schedule, and participate in regular readouts weekly, monthly, quarterly. 
  • Work within a in cross functional environment
  • Facilitate resource utilization data and help forecast future resource capacity.
  • Assist the business in the preparation of new project requests, helping to convey the needs in language most understandable to technology professionals. Lead the project team to manage constraints of schedule, budget and assigned resources to deliver defined scope.
  • Serve as the central administrator for the department's project management/PPM software.
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently or individual large-scale strategic projects.
  • Proactively anticipates threats to achieving project commitments and adjusts project schedule and budget through the timely use of project change control procedures. 
  • Appropriately escalates project issues and roadblocks to PPM Senior Management.
  • Creates presentations for project Steering Committee made up of stakeholders from different IT domains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related fields.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • 10-15 years’ direct work experience in a program and project management capacity.
  • Hands on experience with at least two prior PMO creation and mobilization.
  • Strong knowledge of project portfolio management software and collaboration tools, such as SmartSheet or Project, is required.
  • Experience managing both Waterfall and Agile-based projects.
  • PMP Certification and/or Scaled Agile Certification is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven experience effectively communicating with executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
