As an Intern in Sony's US Research Center in San Jose, CA, you will work within a team of specialized researchers on novel and challenging problems at the intersection of computational photography, machine learning, and mathematical optimization. With insight from leaders in the field, you will be responsible for the development of new features that advance Sony’s digital imaging technologies. To do this, you will utilize extensive mathematical analysis and fundamental knowledge of computer vision, image processing, and machine learning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Researching and implementing algorithms that extend the state of the art in computer vision, machine learning, and image processing related to Sony’s digital imaging business
Clearly documenting experimental processes and findings. Creating code and reports, and delivering to internal team members in a timely fashion
Collaborating with team members on a regular basis
Drafting and submitting findings to a technical conference as required
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Must be currently enrolled in a PhD or Master program in a relevant field (CS, CE, EE, Physics, Math)
Strong understanding of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Image Processing
Good mathematical modeling and probabilistic analysis background
Previous research work in one of the following areas: Computational Photography, Image or Video Generation, Image Restoration and/or Enhancement, Neural Radiance Fields, 3DGS, Diffusion Models, Vision-Language Models
Excellent programming skills in Python, and knowledge of machine learning libraries such as PyTorch or Tensorflow
Strong communication and presentation skills, and a strong research track record
Remote work can be considered.
All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
The target hourly rate for this internship is $45.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
