A Glimpse of the Job
The Business Coordinator II, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities in the Department of Student Activities. These tasks require independent judgment and include reviewing business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and budget data.
Essential Duties/Tasks:
Student Activities Departmental and Recognized Student Organization Accounts Management
Reviews, approves and provides back up for signing vouchers and requisitions.
Reviews and audits reconciliations of all Office of Student Activities and Recognized Student Organization accounts.
Develops, monitors, and reports budget activity.
Prepares complex monthly and annual financial reports.
Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors programs or services.
Provides input and assists in developing policies, procedures, and guidelines
Inventory Management
Coordinates inventory process and maintenance of business files.
Serves as a records management coordinator.
Development and Implementation of Student Organization Finance Procedures
Provides training for recognized student organizations regarding purchasing and cash handling.
Communicates cash handling procedures, audits and approves cash handling activities
Monitors and coordinates purchase requests and approvals
Coordinates check-out system for departmental credit cards for use on student organization purchases.
Coordinates unit purchasing activities
Assists with administration of contracts for items such as venue rentals, entertainer contracts, and software use.
Prepares budgets for review by principal investigator(s).
Develops complex financial and statistical analyses and summary reports.
Business Administration, Payroll, and Other
Participates in the hiring and training of business staff and/or student workers and may provide supervision.
Trains staff on new and existing business procedures and interprets policies and regulations for staff.
Processes hiring and payroll documents for the department.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Planning and organizational skills.

This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures
