Sr. Tax Manager - job 3 of 20

The tax senior manager will be primarily responsible for managing state tax compliance while driving process improvements through the use of technology.  The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance efficiency in tax processes. This role will play a critical part in optimizing our tax operations and ensuring compliance through innovative solutions. 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the preparation and review of state and local income/franchise and indirect tax returns ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.  
  • Assist Federal team with preparation of federal return, estimates, and forecasts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to standardized compliance processes and procedures.  
  • Oversee the data imports and extracts within OneSource, optimizing its functionality to ensure maximum operational efficiency. 
  • Oversee the preparation and review of SALT forecasts and payments for estimates and extensions. 
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and advise on the impact to Visa. 
  • Lead initiatives to automate and streamline preparation and review of work papers, including state apportionment factors and common state adjustments for multiple states and entities, using Alteryx, Power Query or other tools. 
  • Provide Power BI dashboard support for tax reporting and modeling as well as credit and incentive tracking. 
  • Collaborate with team members and cross functional stakeholders to align and integrate tax technology solutions and achieve organizational goals. 
  • Supervise members of the tax team and provide career mentorship. 
  • Lead or participate in special projects. 

This is a hybrid position based in Foster City, CA. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
