Project Controls Manager/ Power BI Specialist

This Opportunity 

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Controls Manager/Power BI Specialist to join our Project Controls team.  This role can be based in Denver CO, Houston TX, Dallas TX, or Austin TX.  This is a hybrid position. 

Be involved in projects with our Project Controls & Technology Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.  This is a Hybrid position. 

 

Your Impact 

Job Duties:

  • Work under the direction of the Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of project financial reporting.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards to visualize project health and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control procedures to track project expenses, analyze cost variances, and identify areas for cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams to evaluate cost-saving options and recommend value-added changes to optimize project costs.
  • Implement integrated project controls methodologies to effectively align cost and schedule management efforts.
  • Communicate project status, cost performance, and schedule updates to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Attend a variety of project meetings with project stakeholders to track and solve cost and schedule management issues.
  • Maintain financial reports for individual project subtasks and provide roll-up reports that summarize the subtasks.
  • Review funding availability and procurement documentation to ensure conformance to approved project budgets.
  • Manage change order processes and evaluations to assess the impact of proposed changes on project costs and schedules.
  • Participate in development of project estimates, budgets, forecasts, estimates to complete, and cost trends.

 

 Who You Are

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field (or equivalent)
  • Candidates with advanced degrees or professional certifications and accreditations in Engineering, Construction Management and related fields are preferred.
  • 10 years of combined field and office project controls experience involving large-scale projects
  • Ability to work in a hybrid-type environment and must be a self-starter. 
  • Experience with dashboard reporting and Microsoft Power BI is required. 
  • Extensive knowledge of cost estimating methodologies, cost control techniques, and schedule management best practices.
  • Ability to interface with clients and participate in business development initiatives. 
  • Expert ability with Microsoft Office Suite primarily Excel. 
  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal skills to deal with a high-pressure environment

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $152,190-186,010/year 

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
