Founded in 1980 as AMLI Realty Co. and now owned by PRIME Property Fund, a core, open-ended, institutional real estate fund managed by Morgan Stanley, AMLI Residential has grown to be a prominent, well-respected multifamily real estate developer and owner .

AMLI has made a commitment to protecting the environment through sustainable development and operations to conserve natural resources and create healthier places to live and work. Sustainable or "green" developments use land more responsibly, offer improved indoor air quality, consume less energy and water, and incorporate renewable or recycled materials.

AMLI has committed to building new developments to meet the standards of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) green building program.  AMLI is proud that, as of December 1, 29 of its communities across the country are LEED certified. And 17 AMLI communities have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR® certification, which signifies that these communities perform in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meet strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA.

Additionally, as of March 1, 2017, 28 AMLI communities proudly offer smoke-free living. AMLI's Breatheasy® program prohibits smoking by residents and guests inside apartment homes and throughout the community, creating a healthy and clean living environment for our residents. People appreciate the opportunity that AMLI is giving apartment residents to live completely smoke-free.
