Our mission is to make clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone in the world
Pros
Nice salary. Great team members. Decent perks like company gym and cafeteria. A lot of company funded events and parties.Cons
Timelines for project completion are too aggressive. We are continuing our work to further enhance our
company’s diversity by recruiting forward-thinking
innovators from a wide array of experiences and
backgrounds. By using advertising and outreach—including
a focus on underserved communities, universities,
university-affiliated student groups, foster youth and
veterans’ associations—we are attracting talented minds to
join our team, which is currently 60% ethnically diverse.
We are also strengthening our relationships with the
communities we serve. Just as our teammates rallied
to help community members at the beginning of the
pandemic through our ventilator work, Bloom employees
worked together to raise funds for frontline hospital and
healthcare workers through our inaugural “Stars and Strides”
community run/walk.
At Bloom Energy, we’re passionate about creating a clean, healthy, energy-abundant world. Our resilient energy solutions are delivering low-carbon energy today and paving the way toward a net-zero tomorrow.
Our leading solid oxide Energy Server for distributed generation of electricity and hydrogen is changing the future of energy. Our fuel-flexible Bloom Energy Servers can use a variety of fuels to create resilient, sustainable, and cost-predictable power at significantly higher efficiencies than traditional, combustion-based resources. The same energy conversion platform that powers our Energy Servers can be used to produce clean hydrogen, which is increasingly recognized as a critically important tool necessary for the full decarbonization of the energy economy.
At Bloom Energy, we look forward to a net-zero future, and even today, our future-proof technology delivers reliable, low-carbon power. The value we provide to our customers is optionality and choice to ensure energy resiliency and security, cost predictability, and sustainability.
Changing the future of energy is no small task, but our diverse group of thinkers, solvers, and dreamers are up to the challenge. Driven by a shared passion for our planet, our employees help design, produce, and distribute unique energy solutions that transform how we power our world.
To achieve our mission of energy abundance without compromises, we strive to:
BE Bold: We always challenge the status quo to exceed our customers’ needs and solve their most complex problems.
BE Inspired: Our compassion for our planet pushes us to deliver world-leading energy solutions.
BE Agile: We adapt nascent ideas into best-in-class products that enable scalable, low-cost energy transformation.
These shared values are what powers our team to create a better, more sustainable future. Are you ready to BE the change?
Our mission is to make clean, reliable energy affordable for everyone in the world because we know that allows our communities to be safe, prosperous, healthy, and resilient. Community impact is what motivates us every day to provide the highest-quality products and solutions possible.
We recognize that our achievements are possible because of our talented, diverse team members, who live and work around the world. We are dedicated to creating a workplace where our employees feel valued and engaged in meaningful work. Just as our employees support and advance our mission, we foster a culture of innovation and transparency enabling the possibility of our employees to thrive. In order to attract and retain our teammates, we strive to maintain an inclusive, diverse and safe workplace, with opportunities for our employees to grow and develop in their careers, supported by strong compensation, benefits and health and wellness programs. It is also vital that we continue to encourage and nurture our employees’ engagement and connection to Bloom’s culture and mission.
Bloom Energy is committed to giving back to our local and global communities, and improving lives. This is what led one of our outstanding engineers to learn how to refurbish ventilators, and teach others how to repair them, when there was a shortage of the units at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team also developed ventilators 2.0, a reliable, user-friendly ventilator solution that provides ventilation support to four people simultaneously in emergency situations. For this, Bloom was recognized last year in Fast Company’s “Pandemic Response” category of its “World Changing Ideas Awards.” The award honors businesses, policies, projects and concepts that are actively engaged and deeply committed to pursuing innovation to solve health and climate crises, social injustice or economic inequality.
In 2021, to support frontline hospital and healthcare workers, we launched our Inaugural Bloom Energy “Stars & Strides” community run/walk fundraiser where employees and families were encouraged to participate. All proceeds from the event benefited the VMC Foundation, a community-driven, nonprofit organization that raises funds in support of Silicon Valley’s most vital public healthcare institution – Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Hospitals & Clinics. We also spearheaded the creation of a rapid PCR testing lab in collaboration with the University of Illinois’ Shield T3 and El Camino Health. With over 35 Bay Area organizations participating in the testing, more than $1.2 million dollars has been raised for the VMC Foundation, supporting the purchase of a mobile vaccination lab to bring vaccinations to housebound, elderly, disabled, children and other residents in underserved areas.
With the environment in mind, the Bloom team is proud to be active in our local communities. In San Jose, team members volunteer at the San Jose Second Harvest Food Bank, annual Family Giving Tree, and Bay Area cleanups at wildlife reserves. Through educational tours at environmental centers and volunteering events, our team continues to learn about community impact and how to give back in meaningful ways.
In the Delaware community, we work closely with educational leaders across the state to ensure the next generation workforce has the skills and experience necessary to succeed in the 21st century economy. Team members also volunteer time with the Delaware Nature Society to plant trees and tend local gardens that provide fresh vegetables to the Food Bank of Delaware.
Our core solid oxide platform can generate power, through our fuel-flexible Energy Servers, running on responsibly sourced natural gas, biogas, or hydrogen, all without combustion or produce zero carbon hydrogen from renewable electricity through the highly efficient Bloom Electrolyzer.
Our platform is architected in such a way that the core stack is common for both power generation and hydrogen production, allowing us to pursue multiple market opportunities and applications from a single supply chain and manufacturing capability.
The versatility of our platform has us well positioned to make immediate contributions to decarbonization and energy security goals today and adapt to the medium and long-term needs arising out of the impacts of climate change.
