Need to think long term

1/18/2024 - Territory Sales Representative at Seattle, WA

Approves of CEO

Pros

It really is in the people. I love the people I am surrounded by and they genuinely care about you and your well being. Higher ups constantly get into my territory to check it out or help me and are always only a call away. They also really emphasize the work life balance.

Cons

While the work life balance is emphasized, its mostly unrealistic. It evens out through the course of the month where i have some days where i end up only working 3-4 hours but you will have days working 12+ hours. Difficult to navigate when you first start because you dont get a ton of training and cant just lean over and ask someone next to you. This is partly because they are looking for people with good problem solving skills but when you first start it gets overwhelming. Your territory is also going to vastly change these circumstances. Territorys have different levels from entry up to where you are hand selected for having a high grit factor before you even know what state you'll be working in. You really have to think of it as 'if i do this for 1-2 years and then do Area Manager for 1-2 years, then I'm in and it will be worth it" Job is also extremely physical. Some cases weigh close to 50lbs and you may be building multiple 100 case displays some days. I think it's definitely worth a shot but this job isn't for everyone.

Our employees and their diverse backgrounds are vital to living out our mission to cultivate the land with care and embody our values as we grow our business. Their unique perspectives are critical to our success. We continue to deepen our efforts to reach all levels of our organization on our Diversity &
Inclusion journey. Our seven employee-led Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) help us amplify employee voices and support or D&I goals.

Our Commitment

As the largest family-owned wine & spirits company in the world, we’re committed to doing our part to create a more sustainable world for future generations. Co-founders Ernest and Julio Gallo laid the foundation in the 1930s when they introduced an innovative approach to land conservation on the North Coast known as the “50/50 Give Back” plan. For every acre of land planted in vineyards, one acre of the property was set aside for wildlife habitat — a practice continued today. We support various sustainability, community, and diversity programs corporately and through our brands. Learn more about our commitment here.
