Pros

Leggett & Platt is a company that truly cares. They value their people and are constantly striving to learn, grow, and improve. I feel very lucky to have a job that I love.

Cons

I work remotely, so I don't get to see my team in person as often as I'd like. Overall, a good problem to have as L&P truly cares about work/life balance and I feel fortunate to have a remote job.

Our ordering of Inclusion, Diversity, & Equity is intentional. Our ID&E efforts are led by three cross-functional groups that seek to drive awareness, engagement, and accountability:

  • ID&E Global Executive Council: Our executive team and senior leaders actively champion ID&E, providing oversight and strategic guidance on global priorities and leadership accountability.
  • ID&E Pillar Action Teams: These teams establish and deliver long-term strategies and action plans designed to ensure that we have a safe and inclusive workplace.
  • Local Communities: These communities are our grassroots efforts to bring ID&E into every location, department, and team.

How We’re Driving Progress

We're taking steps to ensure our culture is inclusive and that our processes and practices promote equity for all. Here are some steps we’ve recently taken to drive ID&E progress at L&P:

  • Initiated Employee Engagement Survey: We asked our employees to share about their experiences at work so we can make meaningful change.
  • Established a Women’s ERG: Our Women’s ERG is dedicated to raising the visibility of women, celebrating their unique contributions and perspectives, fostering personal and professional development, broadening their support network, building allyship, and influencing positive change.
  • Launched People First: Our People First learning series promotes more creative, connected, and collaborative teams across L&P. We also developed a People First Champion Network, which consists of employees who facilitate conversations around our values and inclusive leadership habits.

Employee Health and Safety

As a part of our value to Put People First, we are dedicated to the safety and welfare of all employees through education, awareness, and prevention. We have a comprehensive health and safety program called SafeGuard to support workplace safety. Under the SafeGuard program, all facilities globally are required to meet stringent health and safety requirements.

Investing in Our Communities

We have a long history of giving back to our communities, and our commitment to our communities starts with our people. Our employees donate their own time and resources to address local needs and build a brighter future for neighborhoods around the world.

With charitable efforts throughout our company, our corporate giving supports everything from education to preserving and protecting resources. In 2011, we also established We Rise — an employee and company-funded program that helps satisfy the emergency needs of employees and their immediate families in the aftermath of catastrophic events or natural disasters.

Internships

At Leggett & Platt, we offer internships, apprenticeships, and co-ops throughout the school year where you’ll do hands-on work, solve real-world problems, and polish your professional skills.

Sustainability

Each year, we publish our Sustainability Report, which provides information about our approach to and performance on the environmental, social, and governance matters that are most important to our business. Check out our current Sustainability Report.

Innovative Products

We build sustainability into product development processes and design products for improved durability, recovery, and recycling at end of life. Here are a few examples of how our products support our sustainability goals:

  • Our Flooring Products business manufactures carpet underlay products that can be 100% recycled at the end of their useful life.

  • Our Geo Components business produces geotextile products, such as erosion-control blankets and silt fencing, that help our customers address the challenges of land at risk of natural or human-caused erosion.

  • In our Bedding business, we launched the Quantum Edge® Enhanced Profile with Eco-Base™ and Caliber Edge® Enhanced Profile with Eco-Base™. The Eco-Base™ fabric scrim is up to 80% lighter and contains 80% fewer petro-chemicals than base poly foam.
