Pros

This truly is a great place to work, the amount of talent each individual has is beyond a doubt incredible. They are focus on making sure your mental health is in good standing and currently they give each employee the last Friday off of each month to acknowledge all of the extra work they do throughout the month.

Cons

Right now at this time I don't have any negative comments to say.

In our workplace, inclusion is not just a buzzword, it's a way of life woven into the fabric of our company. We're committed to providing our employees with the resources and support they need to be their best selves and thrive, regardless of their background.

We’ve just released our 2022 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Impact Report. It's a celebration of the many paths that led to #LifeatLevi and a reflection of the hard work we've done and the progress we've made towards creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace culture.

Benefits

THERE ARE A LOT OF PERKS to working for Levi Strauss & Co., not least of which is that you get to wear jeans (or khakis) — and not just on Fridays. Nope! Every. Single. Day. (I mean, since we’re making this awesome apparel, shouldn’t we be wearing it?)

Here are a few more highlights of working at Levi Strauss & Co.:

  • Health: We offer competitive benefit options, and employees can handpick the medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans that are right for them. Plus, we were the first Fortune 500 company to grant domestic partnership health benefits.
  • Time off with pay: Everyone needs some time to recharge! Employees get a certain number of personal days off each year (depending on location and tenure), plus paid holidays.
  • Product discounts: To make it even easier to create an amazing work wardrobe, employees get a discount at all company-owned retail stores and ecommerce sites. Plus, we occasionally have special employee-only promotions.
  • Sample sales: Several times a year, employees can purchase samples from our brands at a significant discount, with all proceeds benefiting local community partners — so you can shop and do good at the same time.
  • Corporate discounts: We offer discounts at companies such as Apple, Microsoft and AT&T Wireless. Depending on what office you’re located in, there also may be discounts available for things like transportation and nearby gyms.

Giving Back

FORMORE THAN160YEARS, we’ve been giving back to the communities where we have a business presence.

We put our profits, people and products to work in more than 100 countries to champion equality, support vulnerable communities and build a more sustainable future for our planet.

And as we like to say here, giving back never goes out of style. Here’s what that tradition looks like today:

Employees & Community
Our company culture empowers employees to take an active role in their communities and become agents of positive change, using their voices and volunteering their time to make a difference on the issues that matter most to them.

We seek to inform and engage employees on important issues and connect them with opportunities to get involved and work toward solutions.

  • CommunityDay: Every year in May, employees get out from behind their desks, stores, or virtual offices for a global day of service. In 2019, employees participated in nearly 200 projects in more than 80 locations across 46 countries.
  • Matchinggifts: Employees can request that their personal volunteer time or charitable donation be matched by the Levi Strauss Foundation, up to $2,000 per fiscal year. Paidvolunteertime: To encourage employees to support charitable organizations with their time and talents, we offer full-time employees up to five hours per month (60 hours per year) of paid time off to volunteer at charitable organizations of their choice.
  • Voices for Change: We train our employees to be effective advocates for the causes they care about - whether it's responsible water stewardship, women's rights and equality, refugees or climate change.

Our Foundations
We have been sharing our profits with the community since Levi Strauss founded the company in 1853. Today, we invest a portion of our annual earnings back into the communities we serve.

  • RedTab Foundation: The Red Tab Foundation, an industry first, was started by a Levi Strauss & Co. employee to provide a financial safety net for company employees, retirees and their families. They are a public nonprofit dedicated to supporting members of the LS&Co. community facing financial hardships by offering grants and proactive programs to help individuals maintain financial health. b
  • Levi Strauss Foundation:  The Levi Strauss Foundation (LSF) advances pioneering social change on the issues and events of our time where Levi Strauss & Co. has a business presence. Their work is grounded in the values of company - originality, empathy, integrity and courage – and supports five core issues:Democracy, Reproductive Justice, Immigrant Rights, Worker Rights and Well-being and HIV/AIDS.

Making An Impact
We make an outsized impact by taking bold stands on social issues that align with our values of empathy, courage, integrity and originality. Here’s a snapshot of how we’ve added our voice to the important issues of our time.

Voting Rights & Engagement
The right to vote is a basic tenet of democracy, and one that is too often ignored. We are actively involved in efforts to increase voter engagement. We work with organizations that register voters, get-out-the-vote during elections and help ensure that all Americans who want to cast a ballot are able to do so. We give employees paid time off to vote and connect them with voter engagement volunteer opportunities.

Gun Violence Prevention
LS&Co. has pledged ongoing support for gun violence prevention by rallying the business community and advocating for gun safety measures. We also established the Safer Tomorrow Fund to support nonprofits and youth activists working to end gun violence in the U.S.

Equality
LS&Co. has long been, and will continue to be, vocal supporters of equality and non-discrimination. We were the first Fortune 500 company to extend health benefits to domestic partners and have continued to use our voice to advocate for an equitable society for all.

Sustainability

SUSTAINABILITY IS WOVEN into everything we do. It’s how we do business, how we show up in the world and how we respond to what our planet, our business and our consumers need.

We take responsibility for the social and environmental footprint of our products and operations, doing right by the places where we live and work.

When we speak of sustainability, we are talking about operating and using resources in a way that can be continued in perpetuity without harming people, the planet or future generations. Our imperative is therefore clear: we must continue to find ways to use less water, to reduce emissions, to better support workers, to drive safer chemistry, to further reduce waste, and to become more circular. We must make sure we become more diverse, more equitable, and more inclusive. And we must use our voice and resources to support our people and communities, providing the support they need and taking stands on issues from gun violence to voter participation to racial justice to gender equity.

Operationally, our sustainability strategy centers on three main pillars — climate, consumption, and community — that encompass where we are putting our energy and how we see our obligations in and beyond this moment. We aim to lead in transparency and impact, to accelerate the circular economy and to increase collaboration in the apparel industry by inspiring employees, communities and value chain partners to join the journey.

We are committed to seeing this work through and building on it to drive a more resilient business and industry. It is what the planet and our communities need and demands of us. It is also how we help the company grow, innovate and stay as durable as the products we make.
