Our History

Harveys

Established nearly a century ago by Iris and J.M. Harvey, Harveys Supermarket grocery stores and in-store pharmacies serve communities in Florida and Georgia. Harveys Supermarket is a subsidiary of Southeastern Grocers, which is one of the largest supermarket chains based in the Southeast.

Winn-Dixie

Founded in 1925, Winn-Dixie grocery stores, liquor stores and in-store pharmacies serve communities throughout five southeastern states - Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. is a subsidiary of Southeastern Grocers, which is one of the largest supermarket chains based in the Southeast.

Fresco y Más

Founded in 2016, Fresco y Más grocery stores serve Hispanic communities throughout Florida. Fresco y Más is a subsidiary of Southeastern Grocers, which is one of the largest supermarket chains based in the Southeast.

Community

The Southeastern Grocers Gives Foundation is the charitable arm of Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores. The Southeastern Grocers Gives Foundation is the 501(c)(3) entity dedicated to supporting the communities we serve and the causes that impact our customers.

Fighting Hunger

In partnership with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization, and its local food bank partners, we are committed to fighting food insecurity in our communities. In 2020 and 2021, we proudly provided more than 35 million meals to those in need throughout our communities.

Disaster Relief

We have a longstanding partnership, spanning more than 50 years and totaling donations of more than $10 million, with the American Red Cross, a national nonprofit dedicated to preventing and lessening human suffering in the face of emergencies and disasters. In 2020 & 2021, we donated more than $1M to help those impacted by natural disasters. The SEG Gives Foundation is proud to be an official Red Cross Disaster Responder Partner.

Supporting Our Military

In honor of the sacrifices made by military members and their families, we are proud to partner with Folds of Honor to provide educational scholarships to the families of injured or fallen military members. Since 2018, we donated more than $5 million, which provided at least 1,100 educational scholarships to the children and spouses impacted by a loved one’s sacrifice for the United States military. It is our way of showing gratitude for their honorable service.

We are also passionate about serving active-duty service members and their families by partnering with the United Service Organization (USO). This past year we donated more than $150,000 to the USO and partnered with them to provide 600 Thanksgiving meals to military families in need.

Belonging, Inclusion & Diversity

We are proud to announce the recent expansion of our charitable giving focus to support more causes committed to elevating belonging, inclusion and diversity while empowering authenticity, educating the broader society and eliminating long-standing barriers.

We are passionate about fostering a culture of belonging and inclusion that directly reflects the diverse communities we serve. Our Romay Davis Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity Grant Program will continue to provide essential funding to organizations that equally support inclusivity and take meaningful action to help combat social injustice by bridging the gap of inequities faced by many individuals, families and communities.
