'Sport for Good' Partnerships Lead - Sky Sports

The ‘Sport for Good’ Partnerships Lead is responsible for driving industry relationships that support Sky Sports’ commitment to being the best partner for sport.
The role will help to shape and deliver programmes and activities that are aligned to our overall strategic business vision of being the most entertaining, innovative and inclusive sports media business in Europe.
You’ll be reporting into the Executive Director for Development, and working closely with the Head of Women’s Sport, alongside other key internal partners across the business on a range of partnerships with high profile charities and NGBs. These include our commitment to championing Black talent in the football industry with Merky FC, our three-year partnership with Kick It Out, and our groundbreaking grassroots cricket participation programme delivered with the ECB. You will also work across gender equality networks such as Women in Football and the Women’s Sport Collective.
Alongside fulfilling our existing commitments to partners, you will also help to establish a new funding model for a new suite of sports partnerships to launch in January 2024.
What you'll do:
  • Work closely with Sky Sports Executive Director for Development to develop and drive our partnerships, handling budget and operational requirements.
  • Help to develop our Sky Sports funding model to identify potential partnerships that align with our business aims and commitment to being the best partner to sport.
  • Working alongside key internal partners from D&I to Content and Commercial to help deliver partnerships such as Merky FC, Kick It Out, ECB, Women in Football and Women’s Sport Collective – partnering effectively across the business.
  • As a representative of Sky Sports you will help to foster relationships across the sports industry, leading on opportunities for the business to be meaningfully impactful in our projects.
  • Collaborating closely with our teams responsible for communications, brand, and reputation ensure that Sky Sports receives the appropriate level of visibility and secures the confidence of the communities and sports that we serve.
  • Help to facilitate appropriate research, identify new partnering opportunities and defining clear deliverables for Sky Sports to support.
  • Produce briefings and reports.
What you'll bring:
  • An understanding of the sports landscape – the power of sport to engage communities, as well as the inequality challenges that the industry faces across disability, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion and social mobility.
  • An interest in sports media across different platforms – including social and digital - and an appreciation of how Sky Sports is central to the national conversation on sport.
  • Experience of leading on innovative programmes of work.
  • Stakeholder management capabilities, the ability to work effectively between different groups across the business and beyond.
  • Creativity and problem solving you will be able to bring in knowledge and a broad range of skills and apply them to your work.
  • A strong commitment to learning, and the ability to form relationships across a complex business network.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presenting), and a willingness to seek and take the advice of communication professionals to create better outcomes.
  • A digital-age approach, comfortable with hybrid working. Adapting to change and being curious about new possibilities is important.
  • A commitment to sharing our story to reach new audiences and communities through the power of sport.
