About the Role:

The Director of Business Relations (Supply Chain), will lead our global supplier engagement efforts, ensuring that our company has accurate and comprehensive supplier information for our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a global team, driving change within our supplier outreach processes, leading initiatives to obtain critical product and regulatory data, and fostering collaboration with suppliers worldwide.

You will also be instrumental in enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within our document and data collection, ultimately contributing to safer and more sustainable products for our clients.


The preferred location for this role is near our Bethesda, MD office, but we are also open to candidates located within the Eastern time zone.


What You'll Do
  • Strategic Planning & Supplier Engagement:
  • Develop and implement strategies to efficiently obtain supplier-related data, optimizing the use of AI and workflow automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supplier engagement strategies with organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Drive initiatives to improve supplier cooperation and compliance, enhancing the overall quality of data obtained.

  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance data obtainment processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and value for customers.
  • Leverage best practices, innovative tools, and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline operations and maximize impact.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data workflows and reduce manual efforts, focusing on scalable solutions.

  • Customer and Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Participate in meetings with customers and prospects, leading discussions on managed obtainment processes and results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, identifying and resolving issues that hinder supplier responsiveness to 3E's requests.
  • Partner with internal teams to effectively manage customer onboarding, from presales to the completion of obtainment campaigns.

  • Leadership and Change Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team of specialists responsible for obtaining product data from global suppliers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, and accountability within the team.
  • Set clear, achievable goals and performance expectations, providing ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Drive change management initiatives aimed at improving processes, technologies, and team capabilities to enhance operational excellence.
  • Understand the global landscape and cultural nuances of each region to effectively manage and support the team.

  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed reports on supplier engagement activities and outcomes.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and insights that inform decision-making and process improvements.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership to drive informed decision-making.


What Makes You A Great Fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience driving process improvements using one of the formal methodologies like Six Sigma, PROSCI
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with continuous improvement and quality management methodologies.
Preferred/Desired:
  • Global experience managing supplier relations across different regions and navigating cultural differences.
  • Experience with advanced data management tools, AI technologies, or workflow automation.
  • Certifications in Supply Chain Management, Continuous Improvement, or Change Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Prosci). 


Pay Transparency:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,00-125,000 per year. The final offer will depend on several factors, including the successful candidate’s skills, depth of work experience, location, and relevant licenses/ qualifications. Not all candidates will be eligible for the higher end of the range, as each offer is determined based on individual strengths and relevant business considerations.

In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.
