Job Description

Position Overview

 

The primary objective of this position is to drive finance transformation by enhancing finance capabilities, improving culture, and reinforcing team spirit across the US Therapeutics Finance organization.  This role is responsible for leading the U.S. Tx Finance Future Fit (FFF) workstreams to ensure execution of the agreed initiatives.

 

U.S. Therapeutics includes 4 therapeutic areas with sales of ~$42B and corresponding margin of ~$30B.  U.S. Tx finance represents ~300 colleagues.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of key capability initiatives (Forecasting, Pricing, Planning/Reporting) that promote best practices in process, provides training and development for people, and improves systems to enhance business partnering, drive simplification, and create efficiencies. 
  • Ensure execution of agreed project plans and timelines for all finance capability initiatives. 
  • Execute the system strategy which includes establishing overall data structure/governance as well as implementing data visualization tools and collaboration tools.
  • Actively support the culture club workstreams (Learning and Development, Operational Excellence, EED&I and Social) to amplify culture and promote continuous improve.
  • Act as key liaison between U.S. Tx and Corporate to drive enterprise-wide Finance Transformation roadmap initiatives and by ensuring alignment with other USTx FFF initiatives. 
  • Provide regular communication updates the finance community on progress towards FFF goals and Finance Transformation goals.
  • Coordinate critical meetings such as the quarterly finance exchange, the annual recognition event, and the annual offsite leadership meeting.
  • Ensure U.S. Tx finance SharePoint is developed and maintained
  • Providing adhoc project support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive finance related experience.
  • Effective at delivering results in a highly matrix environment. 
  • Strong understanding of AbbVie financial planning processes and systems.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a keen sense of ownership and advanced team building skills. 
  • Strong communication and influencing skills. 
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Ability to generate ideas, challenge the status quo, solve problems, and manage innovation to reality.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
