POSITION OVERVIEW

Grey is seeking an Account Director (AD) to join an integrated team on a high-profile pharmaceutical client; responsibilities for these brands include DTC, HCP and US & Global communications. Success in this role requires an understanding of both DTC and HCP marketing spaces and is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of marketing and strategies for our HCP client.

The Account Director will be focusing on the Global HCP business, a global level pharmaceutical client for a high-profile challenger brand. The AD is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of marketing and strategies for our clients, including a deep understanding of the therapeutic category and brand goals. The AD acts the lead advisor and strategist to our clients, driving marketing strategy across all segments, influences multiple large-scale projects and manages senior level client relationships. They are responsible for managing the workload and profitability of the assigned business.

The AD develops strong relationships with clients providing recommendations and proactively anticipating day-to-day needs/issues. This includes working closely with clients to establish specific marketing needs and identifying business opportunities. Once those needs are identified, this role is responsible for helping recognize and implement solutions that will contribute to making Famously Effective work while achieving our client's goals. This role manages, supervises and develops junior talent. Those members can include AAE, AEs, Sr. AEs and Account Supervisors.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

On any given day you can expect to,

  • Lead account members and provide cross discipline leadership to oversee the translation of our client's vision into a roadmap that will achieve client goals, striving consistently to make Famously Effective work.
  • Key point person for all day-to-day client communication across multiple teams.
  • Effectively assign, delegate and monitor the work of agency staff assigned to your accounts. Provide a model of project and team leadership; prepared, proactive, thorough, fair, balanced and a willingness to do whatever is required by clearly communicating expectations.
  • Manage and implement projects from concept to execution; create accurate budgets and schedules, manage budget with the partnership of PM, Finance and Executive Leadership.
  • Develop strong internal relationships with all disciplines, effective day-to-day management of the agency team in terms of direction and guidance.
  • Thorough understanding of the healthcare market and competition, with a perspective and POV on trends that brings innovative thinking and ensures leadership quality deliverables.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the client's business, category and competition.
  • Oversee and manage legal approval process and talent tracking for all advertising.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Proven track record of managing team and developing staff within account and other disciplines
  • Experience and established approach in building relationships that result in new, profitable revenue opportunities as well as driving incremental growth with existing clients
  • Experience negotiating SOW and contracts, effective forecasting, scoping with relationships within PM and Finance departments.
  • Foster strong cohesive working interdisciplinary teams
  • 8+ years' experience within Pharmaceutical Advertising or public health communications, branded and unbranded a plus.

In New York City, the base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $90,000 to $180,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications. #LI-Hybrid
