Product Manager - Retention | Acorns

Acorns is seeking a curious and driven Product Manager to assist with the Retention side of our app. The Retention side of our product includes but is not limited to Investment Products, Banking Products, Money Movement, Education, and Financial Wellness. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a KPI-driven mindset, and a passion for optimizing customer experiences.

As a Retention Product Manager, you will develop and execute strategies to enhance customer experience and retention. Your work will directly impact helping everyday Americans save and invest, driving customer engagement, retention, and LTV through continuous improvement of features and flows.

About the Team:

Product Managers own the roadmap, ensuring clarity and collaboration across design, engineering, marketing, and operations. They uphold high standards, simplify complexity, and inspire the team to achieve ambitious goals with a shared belief in our mission.

Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely while providing optional access to office spaces in Irvine, CA.

What you will do at Acorns:

  • Become familiar with our product development goals, processes, strategy, and vision at Acorns

  • Build strong relationships with engineering, design, analytics, research, and third-party partners, ensuring alignment and clear understanding of our vision, products, and progress across all teams

  • Dive into customer research, analysis, and designs to understand our current and forthcoming offerings

  • Manage the backlog and day-to-day sprint-level needs of the engineering team and product team leaders

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Compliance, Legal, and Marketing to drive product initiatives to completion

  • Draft and refine Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), define success metrics and outline use cases for new initiatives. Oversee projects from concept to launch, analyze their performance, and iterate continuously to achieve optimal outcomes

  • Develop strategies to improve retention, create innovative product ideas, enhance existing offerings, and deliver timely results on current initiatives

  • Leverage data and instincts to shape product vision, define key success metrics, drive innovation, and plan roadmaps for new products and features that align with team and company objectives

What you will bring to Acorns:

  • 3+ years of experience in a consumer-facing product management role

  • Ability to drive outcomes through influence and navigate ambiguity, and complexity in a structured and organized manner

  • Strong knowledge of the product development process, previous experience shipping and iterating on successful products

  • A customer-first mindset combined with the awareness to acknowledge when you don’t have all the answers

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to balance tradeoffs and deliver quickly without sacrificing quality

Compensation Information:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $150,000 and $175,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, equity grants, and discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
