Financial Controller - job 2 of 2

Multi-state construction company is looking for a Financial Controller, as a key executive team member, manages the financial operations and prepares financial analyses, interim, and final statements. This role ensures adherence to established procedures and unbiased presentation of financial and performance reports. Responsibilities include overseeing financial planning, accounting practices... fiscal records maintenance, and financial report preparation for a $50 million a year branch. Key Responsibilities: • Produce monthly financial statements and management reports. • Collaborate with operations to determine revenue and cost adjustments. • Prepare job cost statements and analyze profitability with Supervisors. • Ensure accurate preparation of invoices, lien releases, and client documentation. • Oversee accounts payable, billing, and payroll data entry. • Act as a liaison between the branch and Corporate Accounting. • Manage cash reports, P&L statements, and work towards positive cash flow. • Review and assist in budget preparation and the annual Business Plan. • Maintain balance sheet reconciliation schedules. • Ensure accuracy of subcontractor contracts and invoices. • Supervise local accounting, purchasing, and fleet department staff. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Manage subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees. • Conduct interviews, hiring, training, planning, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions. • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Competencies: • Analytical skills for synthesizing complex information. • Problem-solving skills for timely resolution and information analysis. • Clear and persuasive oral communication. • Effective delegation and monitoring of work assignments. • Managing people by providing feedback and encouraging growth. • Quality management to improve and promote accuracy and thoroughness. • Sound judgment for decision-making. • Planning and organizing work efficiently. • Observance of safety and security procedures. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in accounting. • 5-7 years of accounting experience. • 5 years of progressive financial (GAAP) accounting and reporting management experience
