Job Description

  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Develops and reviews HVAC system designs for various building types, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Conducts energy modelling and analysis to optimize HVAC system performance and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborates with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to integrate HVAC systems into overall building designs.
  • Prepares detailed technical specifications, drawings, and reports for HVAC projects.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results and recommends appropriate solutions.
  • Performs site visits to assess existing systems and gather data for retrofit or upgrade projects.
  • Manages client relationships and communicates complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends in HVAC design and energy efficiency.

Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC design for various building types.
  • Proficient in HAP & IESVE.
  • Good working knowledge of Revit, CAD, and Navisworks.
  • Chartered Engineer status or Postgraduate degree would be preferable.
  • Professional certification in HVAC design (e.g., CIBSE certification) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with energy modelling software and analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of international building codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, BREEAM).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex HVAC projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
  • Proven experience in sustainable design and green building practices.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software and its application in HVAC design.
