Job Description

The Aviation Maintenance Technician assists the Director of Maintenance, and the team, as needed, to maintain the airworthiness, functionality, and cleanliness of company owned rotor and fixed wing aircraft.  Must be a team player who can contribute broadly to the organization, and a person who understands the dynamic needs of a corporate flight department.  This role requires the technician to work a variable shift, dependent upon the flight schedule of the aircraft, as well as travel to support offsite maintenance and repair. Candidate needs to be forward thinking and always looking for ways to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction for the passengers.  

This is a safety-sensitive position.

The responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Inspect and examine aircraft components, including de-icing systems, hydraulic systems and landing gear, for leaks, cracks, breaks or other issues
  • Read and utilize maintenance manuals, ATA codes, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins and other maintenance documents to troubleshoot and complete work assignments
  • Perform routine maintenance operations, such as the replacement of power plant and aircraft components
  • Perform hourly, daily and monthly inspections to check for cracks, oil leaks, burned areas, foreign object damage, warping, distortions, missing segments and wear
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner while adhering to the quality standards of our company, our customers and the FAA
  • Promote safety within the workplace by monitoring others and yourself to guarantee all tasks are performed within the safety manual guidelines, and communicate with other mechanics and supervisors to coordinate repairs and keep apprised of safety concerns
  • Order supplies, equipment, materials, tooling and parts for repairs and general maintenance
  • Keep detailed records of the inspections and maintenance procedures performed, repairs completed, and proper documentation of parts ordered and/or installed
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or related or equivalent
  • A&P License

Required Experience:     

  • 5+ years of aviation maintenance experience, preferably in a corporate flight department
  • Safety sensitive position requiring random drug testing
  • This is a customer facing role that requires attention to detail and a strong focus on customer service and safety
  • Thorough understanding of Airframe and Powerplant systems operation, troubleshooting, and inspection procedures
  • Time management and the ability to prioritize projects are a must
  • Complete tasks with minimal supervision and oversight
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must work effectively with all levels of leadership and team members
  • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel internationally, without restrictions, in order to maintain or repair company assets, attend training, and oversee vendor maintenance visits
  • Must be open to a flexible schedule including some early mornings and late evenings to accommodate aircraft departures and returns
  • Ability to keep a clean and organized work space
  • Must be located in the Hayward, WI area, or be willing to relocate (within an hour’s drive, preferred, but not more than 90 minutes)

Preferred:      

  • Rotorcraft experience
  • Exposure and knowledge of Part 135 Operations and Procedures. (Fixed Wing Fleet Part 135 is current, but do not exercise the certificate regularly)
  • Knowledge of maintenance tracking programs and ability to create logbook entries (Camp, iCamp)
  • Aircraft cleaning and detailing experience

Additional Information

The salary range for this role is $84,000 - $115,500 (Annually). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. Jack Link’s provides a variety of benefits to eligible Team Members, including medical, dental and vision benefits, life and disability insurance, 401k participation, paid holidays, and paid time off.
