Job Title: Dairy TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role is at a Dairy Foods manufacturing facility creating high-quality cultured dairy products. The Dairy Technician is the front-line employee who performs the manufacturing processes. Specific duties range from receiving and handling the raw materials, adding value through a variety of proprietary processes, to packaging the final product. In all stages of production, safety, attention to detail, a quality and sanitation focus, and efficiency are key to the success of the operation.Responsibilities• Support the functions of pasteurizing all milk products while meeting all federal, state, local, and company requirements.• Run and maintain dairy production equipment, with specific focus on sanitation of equipment.• Closely monitor the dairy production process and follow standard operating procedures for batching and processing products.• Accurately prepare and maintain production and cleaning paperwork.• Monitor fats, total solids, allergen, cryoscope, and other related items associated with dairy product processing.• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.• Verify all charts and temperature recordings.• Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP and hand cleaning.• Operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical or operational issues as they arise.• Maximize throughput and minimize downtime, communicating with all departments and supervision as needed.• Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities and improve efficiencies and/or safety in the process.• Follow Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs).• Immediately report any food safety or food quality issues to management.• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, wearing PPE as required.• Other duties as assigned.• Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.• Notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.• Be empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within the scope of work.Essential Skills• Machine operating• Receiving• TroubleshootingAdditional Skills & Qualifications• Experience in pasteurizing and dairy product processing• Knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate paperwork• Continuous improvement mindsetWhy Work Here?Working here means being part of a small company where you are not just a number.
