Staff Product Manager, Affirm Anywhere Credit

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

As the Staff Product Manager for Affirm Anywhere Credit, you'll be responsible for the heart of Affirm's business, affording our users the financial flexibility they need Anywhere they shop. In joining this team, you will drive the credit strategy for Affirm’s Direct to Consumer offerings including the Affirm Card, one time virtual cards, and universal guarantees for a consistent and dependable experience. 

We’re looking for an outstanding product manager who is not bound by the existing paradigms of traditional banks. You and your team of software engineers, machine learning experts, and credit risk analysts will build innovative solutions that fuel all end user experiences in the US and globally while partnering with a wide variety of teams including but not limited to product, engineering, machine learning, analytics, design, marketing, legal, capital, commercial and more. This role reports to the Director of Product, Decisions and Pricing.

What You’ll Do

  • Product leadership: Define and drive product vision and strategy in collaboration with your peers in Credit engineering and analytics

  • Credit domain thought leadership: Establish yourself as a trusted partner of our credit, pricing, machine learning, and engineering teams. Become recognized as a domain expert in the subject matter that drives Anywhere underwriting and decisioning

  • Creative mindset: Define new products and features with specs, wireframes, and product flows

  • Data and metrics driven: Analyze the impact of product features and define metrics for success

  • Complexity and comprehension: Understand and engage on intricate technical and analytical matters, yet be able to distill complexity into key take-aways for cross-functional stakeholders and audiences   

  • Be a team player: Collaborate across functions – including engineering, design, analytics, legal, compliance, marketing, commercial, pricing and others – to successfully launch and scale credit products

What We Look For

  • Product experience: Minimum of 6 years of prior product experience, relevant background in consumer finance, payments, or underwriting is a plus.

  • Motivation: You have a passion and drive to change consumer finance for the better.

  • Analytical skills: You have a data-driven learning style and use quantitative information to make product decisions.

  • Experimental mindset: You like to test and learn in a way that incorporates both customer needs and data. You must be comfortable operating autonomously and unafraid to learn/fail fast.

  • Results: Experience shipping simple, elegant user-facing products with measurable impact to the bottom line.

 

Pay Grade - USA31

Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: 

Min: $190,000

Mid: $237,500

Max: $284,900

 

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: 

Min: $171,000

Mid: $213,700

Max: $256,500
