As an ENA Drivers SW development engineer, you will be responsible for developing kernel-space and user-space network drivers, running on the customer’s virtual machines. You will develop features for Annapurna Labs next-generation hardware to enable high network bandwidth and packets-per-seconds (PPS) performance with consistently low latency. As an ENA Drivers SW development engineer, you will play a key role in shaping SW designs, keep-up with new features and enhancements provided by various operating systems, and help resolve complex customer issues. You will continuously evolve technically, while working to monitor AWS cloud health, maintain high-quality standards, develop highly-optimized code, and provide exceptional customer satisfaction.Annapurna Labs, as part of Amazon Web Services (AWS), develops innovative hardware and software for AWS cloud customers. The Linux, DPDK, and FreeBSD ENA drivers are open-source and available in the official Amazon drivers GitHub and corresponding operating systems’ repositories. The ENA drivers are responsible to manage the interface between the Nitro controller and the virtual instance, manage resources and configurations, and implement various networking enhanced features. A SW engineer in the ENA Drivers team will design, develop, and upstream new features for AWS Nitro servers, work with internal and external customers, and continuously invest efforts in maintaining high-quality operational bar.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded SW development- 3+ years of network driver development- Expertise in at least one of the following: Linux, Windows, DPDK, or FreeBSD network drivers development- Strong hands-on experience in C development, with a mindset for developing optimized code- Good understanding of TCP/IP stack- Ability to define and design cross system solutionsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with real-time performance profiling and optimization- Experience with various networking protocols- Experience working with the open-source community- Experience from companies which develop their proprietary ASIC as well as its corresponding driversPosted: August 8, 2024 (Updated 6 days ago)Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
