DescriptionAmazon’s Cross Channel Marketing Team (XCM) is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Sr. Finance Operations Manager to support our budget, billing, and planning mechanisms in partnership with our global Finance partners and accounting teams. The primary functions of this role will be to develop, refine, and actively drive finance and budget related processes, partner on month/ quarter end close mechanisms, and align with stakeholders and finance teams on annual operational plans (OP1/2).This role will be responsible for the oversight of our global media budget, and more active management of our US Media, Production and capital expenditure budgets, alongside key stakeholders, cross functional leadership, and external agency partners. They will manage vendor onboarding and relationships with frequently utilized agencies and streamline billing across multiple locales.At this time, XCM is managing through significant change in our agency partners, which enables opportunities to streamline and create consistency with our approach to budget and billing management for internal teams and stakeholders, as well as global teams and external partners. This Sr. Finance Operations Manager will play a pivotal role during our workflow transformation to audit and refine our current billing and budgeting and drive consistency and operational excellence based on their direct experience driving complex change management. Additionally, there are opportunities to establish a team to scale wider global budgeting and forecast support.A successful individual in this role will remain adaptable within the current and future state of finance operations within XCM. They will focus on building trust with global teams, direct finance partners, accounting and procurement, as well as lead the billing and budgeting relationship with our primary external agencies. They will have a strong Bias for Action and proactively solve locale specific challenges with a global mindset and leverage current tooling for stronger automation across budget tracking to guidance and reporting capabilities.Key job responsibilities• Collaborate with XCM global cross -functional business partners for alignment on processes and budget roll-ups, with shared responsibility on solutions• Supports XCM business partners across media buying and activation, campaign development and production, and priority programs in their budget management and monthly billing and accrual cycles• Lead Monthly and Quarterly financial mechanisms with our finance partners and accounting teams, and communication with various business partners if added commentary or clarity is required• Analyzes, defines, and implements short and long-term operational process improvements across our financial operations, and collaborates with impacted teams throughout the process, considering global scale when necessary• Develop process documentation, training materials, and support the centralized operations function for XCM• Vendor or agency partner management, including; onboarding, weekly to monthly status mechanisms, quarterly improvement offsites, and monthly or quarterly business reviews (MBR/ QBR) as needed to maintain cohesion and optimized workflows• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a bias towards data-led decision making• Ability to thrive in ambiguity, solve complex problems, and scale or streamline solutions effectively across an organization (regional or global teams)Basic Qualifications• 8+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience• Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements• Experience communicating results to senior leadership• Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)• Experience driving or participating in standard financial operating procedures, including; Month End Close, Quarter End Close, Annual Operating Plans, forecasting for quarterly guidance and variance commentary/ justification• Passion for mechanisms, problem solving and streamlining workflows• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a bias towards data-led decision making• A proven track record of inventing and simplifying in cross-functional capacitiesPreferred Qualifications• Agency or brand experience with familiarity in Media and Production costs and/or deliverables• Developing, defining, or leading reporting within budget management tools, such as Smartsheet, MS Excel, Purchase Order data and/ or general ledger data• Experience in complex change management implementation and workflow revisions• Direct team management experience, including hiring, onboarding, training, and career growth development• Liaising or managing Global stakeholders and locale budgets across multiple spend amounts and currenciesAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $186,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
