How will you make an impact in this role?

American Express is spearheading into multicloud infrastructure enablement leveraging best of all public clouds and this position will be instrumental in securely enabling cloud native services in Google cloud platform using self service developer experience.

In this Senior Engineer role, you will be part of a highly talented team responsible for building scalable, secure, and highly available Cloud based Services within our public cloud based platform, while also gaining experience and getting exposure to many other open-source products as required.

Your primary responsibilities will be to develop technical solutions to enhance the American Express Hybrid Multi Cloud platform, with a focus on building automation for highly scalable cloud services delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in developing and implementing Infrastructure as code templates to automate cloud provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using GitOps pipeline . 
• Manage cloud resources, including virtual machines, networking, and storage, ensuring they are provisioned and configured correctly. 
• Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security, identifying areas for optimization and remediation. 
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect cloud resources and data, including firewalls, access controls, and security groups 
• Diagnose and resolve cloud-related issues, providing technical support to users and developers. 
• Work with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security teams, to implement and manage cloud solutions. 

Preferred Qualifications

 Preferably a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

• •      7+ years of experience in developing REST APIs using Google’s GoLang and/or Java or Python.
  •      5+ years of experience in developing Terraform modules for service provisioning in Public cloud. Preferably in Google cloud
  •      Deep understanding of public cloud infrastructure principles like VPC, Networking, Network security, IAM, Secrets Managements 
  •      Strong experience with Google native integration services Pub-Sub, Memory Store(Redis), Composer
  •      Strong experience with Google Bigdata Services Dataproc, Dataflow, Bigquery
  •      Deep understanding of security integrations – Okta, mTLS, SSO, HashiCorp Vault etc.
  •      Deep understanding of API Gateways and their functions.
  •      Experience with any of the Container and cloud Orchestration technologies – Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform etc.
  •      Deep understanding of CI/CD process and tools like – GitHub/Actions, Docker, Jenkins,
  •      Good understanding of Infrastructure fundamentals like DNS, F5, Certificates, Containers, monitoring tools, Logging analytic tools, Firewalls & Security policies
  •     Successful track record of developing middleware solutions, with a strong focus on code quality, unit testing, integration testing, code quality analysis tools and API (Swagger) documentation.
  •     Familiar with agile application development methods. Understanding of QE, Devops processes in general.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
