Cyber Security Engineer II

Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in software and systems engineering and software systems research to develop new capabilities, ensuring cybersecurity is fully integrated.
  • Conduct comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in cyberspace systems.
  • Design, develop, test, and evaluates information system security throughout the systems development life cycle.
  • Test, implement, deploy, maintain, and administer the infrastructure hardware and software and conduct risk assessment and provide recommendations for application design and accreditation including ATO and eMASS.
  • Be responsible for the full range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access- Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.
  • Participate in the design and development of new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
  • Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US citizeship required)
  • Security+ CE certified
  • At least 3+ (three) years of experience in Configuring, testing, maintaining, and upgrading information system(s) software and hardware to comply with Department of Defense (DoD) IA requirements and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Managing accounts, network rights, and access to DoD systems and equipment
  • Vulnerability management
  • Development of IA artifacts and documentation
  • Facilitation of IA implementation, review and analysis of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation
  • Support for Information System Security Officer (ISSO) duties.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77,600.00/Yr. - USD $129,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
