As the nation's premier tire distributor, ATD’s coast-to-coast distribution network provides approximately 80,000 customers across the U.S. with rapid and frequent delivery of high quality tires, custom wheels and shop supplies.Position Description:We are looking to hire an Associate Relations Specialist for our Northeast Region where you will be responsible for the communication, guidance and education of core and common Associate Relations (ER)/HR policies in support of 20+ Distribution Centers from Virginia to Maine. You will provide support and consultation that champions our company purpose and values while maintaining a focus on risk mitigation. Individuals within this position have an adaptable approach in order to consult with various levels of leadership throughout the organization. This position acts as an independent, confidential resource providing analysis of facts, conclusions and recommendations as appropriate.As an objective and trusted advisor for new and seasoned managers, the Associate Relations Specialist will seek to resolve matters quickly and, effectively while preventing escalation or the risk of potential liability.• *NOTE: This role requires approximately 30% annual travel to the Distribution Centers in the Region and the hired associate can live anywhere in the Northeast Region or near our Corporate HQ in Huntersville, NC**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:• Act as liaison with and trusted advisor to ATD associates at our US locations, address general associate-related questions and respond to daily inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs• Partner with line managers to resolve associate issues such as performance concerns, absenteeism, leave requests and policy enforcement• Provide counseling and coaching to managers and provide guidance related to associate conflict resolution, disciplinary action and/or termination• Schedule and participate in associate exit interviews• Regularly report on and analyze employment data• Conduct fair, neutral, timely investigations while applying company policies and federal/state regulations and procedures• Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance• Travel Required: 20+% of the time, travel throughout the geographic area and may require overnight stays. Travel to the Field Support Center (Huntersville, NC) and other destinations as required.Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related discipline from four-year college or university required• At least 3-5 years of relevant associate relations/work experience in human resources role• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS systems• Creative approach to problem solving• Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills• Superior interpersonal and strategic communication skills• Able to build credibility among senior management and peers• Entrepreneurial attitude, spirit and drive• Talented multi-tasker with ability to work in team and independent settings• Strong attention to detail and consciousness in managing confidential information• Expertise in, and proven experience and working with, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, ADAAA• Capacity to work in a timely and organized way to meet mandatory deadlinesAdditional Details (work environment, specializations, etc.)This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate occupying the position.
