They thrive in teams, are hands-on, and can effectually collaborate and communicate across multiple functional areas.Sr. Accountant / Accounting manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all accounting operational functions including managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results. This position manages the day-to-day functioning and scheduling of the Accounting Team and will act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external financial statements including auditing and compliance.The BusinessA wealth management technology platform that is in the process of scaling rapidly. Our mission is to empower financial services firms, advisors and their clients with cutting-edge technology and exceptional service.Responsibilities• Performs and/or manages tasks related to general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable/customer billing, and commission reporting.• Completes full month end close cycles with balance sheet reconciliation packages.• Completes the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP for issuance to executive management and investors.• Generates customer end client billing files based upon Excel data extracts.• Analyzes past and current financial performance data.• Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities.• Leads integration or consolidation of accounting functions for acquired entities.• Leads annual external audit and coordinates with external tax accountants.• Builds an efficient accounting organization by attracting and retaining a high-quality team and utilizing software over manual processes.• Works closely with business unit executives to review financial trends and KPIs.• Assists Controller and CFO with MD&A accompanying financial statements and board presentations.• Ensures documentation and ongoing compliance with accounting and financial controls.• Completes bi-weekly payroll processing.• Additional duties and assignments as assignedQualifications, skills, and experience• High-energy individuals ONLY.• Must have the ambition, drive, and work ethic to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.• Insurance, fintech or wealth management industry experience is strongly preferred, not required.• Degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred.• Ability to translate complex business operating models into clear financial performance.• Experience with M&A transactions is a big plus.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with superb attention to detail• Ability to partner closely with internal customers.• Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven and multi-tasking environment.• Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment.• Demonstrated knowledge of forecasting and financial statement analysis• Desire to consistently exceed expectations and take on more responsibility.• Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.• At least 5+ years of accounting experience.• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP reporting standards.• Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus• The company is unable to sponsor a Visa.• Complete the Predictive Index at the beginning of the process• Accept a background check upon offer letter• Work in an onsite setting• EOEJob Type: Full-timePay: $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per yearBenefits:• 401(k)• Dental insurance• Health insurance• Vision insuranceSchedule:• Day shift• Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:• Bonus opportunitiesApplication Question(s):• Predictive Index assessment must be completed once received.Ability to Relocate:• Scottsdale, AZ 85255: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
