Responsibilities:
The Anesthesia Technician will work Full Time, Various Shifts and Weekends and assists Anesthesiologist and CRNAs in providing efficient and effective patient care.
- The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for maintaining anesthesia work areas are clean, orderly and stocked.

The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for maintaining clear communication.

The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for recognizing the role that each staff member can play in efficiency and cost containment.
- The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for accurate data collection and documentation as required.

The Anesthesia Technician acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in area of practice.
Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. Education/Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- Technical training preferred.
Experience:
- Six months previous clinical experience in a health-related position such as a nursing assistant, laboratory assistant, or emergency medical personnel is preferred.
Licensure/Certificates:
- Basic CPR Certification required within 6 months from date of hire.
Skills:
- Lifting and positioning of patients.
- Normal reaching, handling, and fingering of equipment is necessary.
- Near visual acuity and color perception is required.

Must be fluent in the English language.
Physical Requirements:
- On feet much of the day, considerable lifting, moving of heavy and awkward equipment.
- Must be able to lift and position patients.
- Normal reaching, handling, and fingering of equipment is required.
- Must be able to hear well.
- Because masks cover faces, lip reading alone would not allow adequate communication.
- Some supplies are stored at a height greater than 7 feet off the floor. The Anesthesia Technician must be capable of reaching them easily. This involves climbing a stepladder.
