Website Administrator & Developer (WordPress)

As the Website Administrator & Developer, you will:

Website Management

  • Oversee the technical operations of the WordPress website, ensuring consistent uptime, performance, and security.
  • Update plugins, themes, and core WordPress versions to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain a staging environment that mirrors the production website as closely as possible. Ensure all updates and testing are performed in the staging environment before deployment to production. Avoid pushing staging to production directly to prevent overwriting content created or updated on the live site in the interim.
  • Manage website hosting, domains, and server configurations.

Troubleshooting & Development

  • Independently resolve technical issues, including plugin conflicts, server errors, or design inconsistencies.
  • Implement minor development changes (e.g., coding fixes, PHP, HTML/CSS updates).
  • Develop and implement website changes, using PHP, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript as needed.
  • Delegate larger tasks to the freelance developer with comprehensive briefs and follow-ups.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with SEO and content marketing teams to align website updates with broader strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on web-related queries and progress updates.

Project Management

  • Lead website improvement projects from start to finish, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Prioritize tasks based on business impact and urgency.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Use tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and uptime monitoring software to track and report website health.
  • Provide weekly status updates to stakeholders on website priorities and progress.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on completed tasks before deployment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of website processes, fixes, and SOPs.

Competencies and Skills

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of WordPress (including themes, plugins, and PHP/HTML/CSS), server management, and web hosting.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot and fix website issues independently.
  • Tools Proficiency: Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, ClickUp, and uptime monitoring tools.

  • Communication: Flawless written and verbal communication skills for clear collaboration across teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

- 3 years minimum experience in website administration, WordPress management, or web development

- In-depth industry knowledge regarding best practices, development, current regulations, and technology, particularly in Website Administration, Web Development & WordPress

- With a deep background in a remote setup of work similar to freelancing as an Independent Contractor (deep understanding of the pros & cons involved in this industry)

- With passion about resolving technical issues independently

- A portfolio of proof of past achievements showcasing web development, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills is required

- Preferrably with certifications: Google Analytics Certificate, WordPress Certificate , or similar

- Outstanding English communication skills (Written & Verbal)

- Highly organized and detail-oriented. Be able to track and monitor the project in a timely manner

- Ability to communicate effectively with the team and with clients

- Flexible and can work any hours of the day

- With fast, reliable and stable internet connection (LAN or Fiber) and with internet backup
