Wound Care Prior Authorization Specialist

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Wound Care Prior Authorization Specialist to support their healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance guidelines, prior authorization processes, and wound care treatments. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills to secure timely approvals for patient treatments, including advanced therapies.

This position is integral to ensuring patients receive the care they need promptly and efficiently while maintaining compliance with insurance requirements.

Salary - $1500 pm

Type of Work - Full Time (REMOTE)

Work Schedule - Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (US time zone)

  • In depth background in a remote set-up of work similar to freelancing as an Independent Contractor (deep understanding on the pros & cons involved in this industry).
  • Certification in medical billing, coding, or a related healthcare discipline is preferred.
  • Proven experience in prior authorization or medical billing within a healthcare setting, preferably in wound care or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of insurance guidelines, medical necessity criteria, and authorization processes for wound care treatments and procedures.
  • Proficiency in managing insurance coordination, including handling denials and appeals.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with insurance providers, clinical teams, and patients.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for maintaining accurate records of authorizations, documentation, and communications.
  • Familiarity with medical coding, insurance policies, and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and tools.
