Are you a strategic, mission-aligned financial leader ready to drive impact and innovation? Aspire is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Vision Team and help shape a financially resilient future for an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities.


As CFO, you won’t just be managing numbers—you’ll be shaping strategy, leading financial innovation, and ensuring every dollar supports our mission. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Vision Team, bring clarity to complexity, and help steer Aspire’s future with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and Vision Team to define and execute long-term financial strategy and market positioning.
  • Financial Stewardship: Lead budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and cash flow while continuously optimizing financial systems and processes. 
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to all accounting standards and proactively manage risk with strong internal controls. 
  • Insightful Communication: Present complex financial information with clarity and purpose to board members, funders, and leadership. 
  • Digital Transformation: Champion financial technologies and data analytics to drive smarter decisions and transparent reporting.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team while fostering a values-driven, collaborative culture 
  • Board Partnership: Serve as the fiscal liaison to the Board of Directors, participating in meetings and presenting critical insights.

  • Extended Team: Accounting Manager, Government Grants Audit & Compliance Specialist, Entitlements & Finance Coordinator
     


Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Finance or Business preferred
  • Minimum 8 years in senior financial leadership (nonprofit or corporate)
  • Minimum 5 years managing and developing team 
  • Proven success in applying corporate best practices in a nonprofit context
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Location & Schedule

This is a hybrid role based in Hillside, IL, with an in-office presence required 3 days per week. Aspire’s central office is located at 1815 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, IL 60162.

 

Compensation & Benefits

Full-Time Pay and Benefits (37.5+ hours/week) 

  • Salary range: $175,000–$200,000  
  • Up to 15% annual performance bonus
