Assistant Director, Sports Information

The Athletics Department at Marist College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as the Assistant Director, Sports Information. This position will work under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director, Sports Information, in coverage of Marist Athletics through writing, social media, stat keeping, web site maintenance, and archive work. Is directly responsible for coverage of assigned sports. Will work with coaches, administrative staff, and student staff to develop story ideas. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and administrative staff.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.


Essential Functions:


  • Assist with content for GoRedFoxes.com and social media platforms.
  • Assist with staffing home events for assigned sports, including overseeing statistical staff, social media, and performing public address announcing (if necessary).
  • Work with co-workers, administrative staff, and coaches on collaborative projects to develop story ideas.
  • Work with student staff on office projects and at live events.
  • Maintain accurate records GoRedFoxes.com (including rosters, schedules, and statistics).
  • Maintain historical database for assigned sports.
  • File statistical reports with conference & national offices.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Previous experience in college athletics is strongly preferred.
