Job Description

Your Role

The Associate Media Relations Manager role will support the team's efforts to generate strong quality media coverage for the firm while enhancing the brand and promoting the firm's leading products and services.

This role is responsible for supporting the Media Relations Team's efforts to develop and implement a strategic media relations plan. This includes supporting day-to-day activities such as news monitoring and research, preparing media backgrounders for interviews and through this work becoming familiar with Invesco as well as its products and services.

You will be responsible for:
  • Oversee the distribution of the firm's global news to employees.
  • Manage the process for media measurement and metrics; prepare quarterly and annual reports for the firm overall as well as for identified business areas.
  • Create and maintain media lists.
  • Develop and update editorial calendars.
  • Monitor news on competitors and the industry and share internally as appropriate.
  • Contribute to plans that promote a favorable public reputation for the firm.
  • Support the development of materials used to prepare executives for interactions with the media.
  • Support the team on pitching news stories.
  • Develop and maintain productive and positive relationships with relevant members of the news media.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Americas Media Relations and Directors.

The experience you bring:
  • A minimum of two-three years of experience in media/public relations or journalism with an emphasis on financial markets and/or asset management.
  • Past involvement in working cross functionally across different groups or business units.
  • Experience in supporting the execution of a strategic media relations framework. Preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of REIT legal compliance matters
  • Familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and alternative investment products.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects/initiatives and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to be articulate and persuasive.
  • Capable of establishing clear priorities and meeting tight deadline
  • Conducts business in compliance with all Company policies, local laws and industry regulations.
  • Understands and follows the Invesco Code of Conduct.

The total compensation offered for this position, which includes salary and incentive pay, will vary based on skills, experience and location. The salary range for this position in New York City is $100k to $115k annually.
