Job Description

As a Junior Business Controller, you will become a valued  sparring partner for our sales team and play an active role in achieving our financial goals. Reach your full potential as a Junior Business Controller
As a Junior Business Controller, you are the go-to person for our commercial departments. You will be working in the Finance Team for our Liquor business, a team consisting of 7 controllers and 5 FA employees, and you will report directly to the Senior Controller.

In your first weeks, you will start with the basics to get a good understanding of the administration and the system: processing purchase invoices, managing cash and bank transactions, and checking goods invoices and payment flows. You will quickly develop into an advisor for our commercial and management teams.

You will work closely with the Senior Controller and play a crucial role in providing insights into financial performance. You will be responsible for preparing management reports and developing and monitoring the budget. These activities are essential for making strategic decisions and optimizing our business operations.

What else will you do?

  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports
  • Act as a sparring partner for management and the business
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Balance Sheet and P&L, including monthly and annual closures
  • Analyse financial results and identify trends
  • Monitor financial KPIs, ratios, and working capital
  • Prepare documentation for audits

You quickly spot patterns in large datasets and enjoy working with numbers. In addition to your analytical skills, you can translate complex data into a clear and understandable narrative.  You’re outspoken, persistent, and thorough in your approach. Advising and acting as a sparring partner come naturally to you, and you stand your ground when it counts.

You:

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a financial or economic field
  • Have at least internship experience, with preferably 2 years of experience in finance
  • Are skilled in Excel and quick to learn other financial systems
  • Are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken

Additional Information

  • A good salary in line with your experience, plus a yearly fixed Christmas bonus and a performance dependent bonus
  • Initially, a one-year contract with the prospect of  permanent employment 
  • 25 vacation days, with the possibility to purchase additional days
  • A travel allowance of up to 75 km on single trip travel when working at the office, or an allowance if you’re working remotely (from home)
  • The flexibility to work 1 day a week from home
