The role:

Our Growth team is looking for a skilled Member Engagement Field Associate to work in the community to engage individuals impacted by substance-use-disorder - meeting them where they are in the community and sharing the support Better Life Partners’ (BLP) can offer. You will be excellent at adapting your approach and message to meet the needs of individuals where they are in their journey and are excited to remove barriers to access our care services. 


Reporting to the Community Growth Manager, you will be an advocate for those on the recovery journey, be an empathetic listener and a skilled communicator. You will work with Growth teammates to support direct to member outreach at existing community partners and identify and follow through on other opportunities to increase awareness of BLP in the community and directly engage potential members.


This role requires strong territory management and relationship development skills, along with a passion for building connections with diverse audiences. Member Engagement Field Associates will be in their communities an average of 4 days per week.


This is a hybrid position with much of your time spent in the field and communities we serve. Candidates applying must be willing and able to travel to BLP meetings, community events, or business functions as needed and determined by the business and Growth Team. Candidates applying must reside in Maine. 


What you will do:
  • Work in your communities to proactively identify opportunities to meet and engage with those who may need support for substance-use-disorder
  • Collaborate with our established Community Partners to engage potential members, this may include but is not limited to: tabling at community partners, attending community events, collaborating with community partners outreach teams, conducting outreach at recovery courts, etc.
  • Increase awareness of BLP and its services in your territory, including but not limited to: direct street outreach, hanging fliers and sharing information in key locations (e.g., community centers, healthcare providers) 
  • Explain the services of Better Life Partners and answer questions and address individual’s concerns with compassion and understanding
  • Support member intake, helping interested individuals call the intake team and troubleshooting as needed
  • Represent the organization at community events, arriving early to set up and being an ambassador of BLP during the event to raise awareness of our services in the community
  • Work closely with the Community Growth Manager and our Partnership Managers to identify growth opportunities


You are a good fit if you have:
  • 4+ years of customer outreach / sales experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent time management and reliability
  • Self-motivated to help as many people as possible 
  • Must be willing to travel locally with an expectation to be out in your territory ~4 days per week; travel time up to 2-3 hours a day and overnights are possible for engagement further out
  • Valid driver's license, access to your own means of reliable transportation, and proof of insurance


It will also be great if you have:
  • Previous experience in healthcare
  • Bilingual
  • Relevant experience in MAT/MOUD program highly preferred
  • Must be willing to travel locally within the communities we serve, including weekends and overnights
  • Demonstrated ability to hit Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Experience using a CRM, Salesforce preferred 
  • Team player with an “all hands on deck” positive attitude, organized/able to multitask


Work location requirements:
  • BLP operates in hybrid and remote work environments, which allows us to better meet our members and partners where they’re located. Candidates applying for this role must be willing and able to travel locally within the communities we serve and/or travel to onsite meetings as expected in coordination with their department and business needs. 


When working from home, the requirements include:
  • Must have reliable internet service with a fast upload/download ability
  • Ability to ensure any protected health or proprietary data/information is not visible (or audible)  to others in any work location
  • Must have a quiet space to speak to members, team members, or external partners with minimal background noise and distractions


$46,500 - $57,000 a year
In addition, this role is eligible for an Quarterly Incentive Program
The actual compensation offered within the range, along with title and level, will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, business requirements, and performance expectations. All full-time BLPeeps are also eligible for equity in the form of stock options to be invested in BLP’s growth and success!
