The Head of Events is responsible for all components of the company’s experiential and event strategy and execution to drive business impact, build community, and further develop our brand. This person will develop an overall strategy for the company's investment in all events, from creating owned events to integrating BetterUp into top industry events.  Building and working with a team internally and externally, this person is directly responsible for defining scope, inspiring teams, and executing to achieve our goals. 

What you’ll do:

  • Owns the strategic vision, planning, and execution of events in partnership with various teams across the organization, including Sales, Product Marketing, Executive Leadership, and more.
  • Partners with the leadership team to integrate events into our go-to-market strategy and our top-line business metrics.
  • Aligns with key stakeholders – internally and externally – to get input and validate decisions that will impact our attendees and optimize their experience. 
  • Leads a team focused on production, content programming, talent engagement, event marketing, and marketing to create full funnel activations that drive customer and prospect engagement, and ultimately revenue growth.
  • Identifies and manages a shortlist of agency partners to draw from as needed; represents our brand to agency partners and serves as key liaison for partners in the field of events.
  • Defines program(s) scope, bringing cutting-edge innovative ideas, operations, processes, technologies, products and platforms for the operational and strategic management of events we create.
  • Contributes to identifying trends we should consider and amplify, places and ways we can and should be creating, integrating into or considering as we seek to engage our various communities - creating and deepening meaningful relationships.
  • Reports on key results and learnings from events and iterate and adjust strategy for future events.

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • 10 years of professional experience in B2B events, preference for substantial leadership roles overseeing events team and agencies. 
  • Successful experience in delivering global-level campaigns or events, from agency or in-house position.
  • Deep understanding of and execution upon "owned" series of events - not just tapping into a pre-existing event structure. Preferred leadership or ownership of creating a global event or events franchise for a leading brand.
  • Well-connected in the event management world, preferred Celebrity + Influencer experience, as well.
  • Analytical abilities to identify high-impact opportunities and objectively evaluate projects.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever-changing startup environment.
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills; incredible ability to multitask.

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $133,050 – $233,400.

If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is: 
$150,600 – $233,400: New York City
$141,750 – $219,750: Nassau, Newburgh
$133,050 – $206,250: Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse
