Who You Are

You are a proactive and detail-oriented People Relations Specialist with expertise in multi-state employment law and effective performance management practices. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to management regarding employee relations matters, providing guidance on processes, interpreting policies, and mitigating risk. You will play a critical role in resolving workplace challenges, promoting a fair and respectful work environment, and supporting leaders in effective management of their team’s performance. You thrive in a fast-moving, high-change environment and are solution-oriented, focused on continuous improvement. This role requires you to work independently while managing multiple priorities with confidentiality and discretion.


What You'll Do
  • Partner with managers to address employee-related matters, coaching managers on setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and creating documentation
  • Guide managers through performance management processes, creating tailored strategies to address performance gaps while providing support in the development of performance improvement plans and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of cases in the People Relations case management system
  • Utilize dashboards and reports to track progress on cases and conduct timely follow-ups with managers
  • Analyze employee relations data to identify patterns and root causes, providing reports and actionable insights to leadership to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Manage the employee offboarding process ensuring a smooth transition for departing employees
  • Assist with conducting workplace investigations by taking detailed interview notes and preparing comprehensive investigation reports
  • Manage the People Relations shared mailbox and act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, serving as subject matter expert on company policies and department procedures
  • Respond to unemployment claims by providing required documentation by specified deadlines
  • Remain up to date on multi-state employment law requirements and ensure compliance with applicable regulations


What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • Certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR, preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources and/or employee relations
  • System experience with Workday and an employee relations case management system preferred
  • Communication – the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels, including staff, managers, and executives, often in sensitive situations such as conflict resolution or performance management discussions. This role requires superb written communication skills to prepare business documentation such as performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and investigation reports.
  • Organization and Time Management – The ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of work. This role will require you to manage multiple cases simultaneously while keeping detailed records and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Decision Making and Judgement – The ability to make sound, well-informed decisions, often under pressure. This role will require you to assess situations, analyze options, apply applicable company policies, laws, precedents, and best practices to make fair and ethical decisions and recommendations.
  • Training and Coaching – The ability to educate managers and employees on various workplace topics such as conflict resolution, performance management, legal compliance, and company policies.
  • Analytical and Data-Driven Thinking – The ability to analyze trends in employee relations cases, performance management outcomes, and employee feedback. This role will require you to use this data to identify patterns and inform decisions about policies, practices, or strategies.
